I think Baylor wins by a bigger margin. Other game is basically a tossup, IMO. Probably depends on whether Duke can keep Nneka under 30 or so.
You see Duke defeating Stanford in the near future?
I doubt we will match up in the NCAA's....... but thats definitely the #1 I would want Duke to play if we were to make it to the Regional Final. So yeah..... I could see Duke winning that matchup.
Guess I gotta be careful what I wish for
I think Chelsea Gray leads Duke to a narrow Victory.... 67-64
i dont' see any of the 2 seeds winning. i think Baylor has the biggest margin of victory. i don't see Duke getting past Stanford either. but several of the games should be very entertaining...

I think UCONN has the largest margin of victory. I just don't see UK being able to stay close to UCONN.
yes, it has happened before- 1989. Happened on the men's side in 2008.I thought I heard one of the talking heads say last week that no final four had ever involved 4 #1 seeds. If so, strange for the women, not for the men, and you Eric are bucking the odds. Kudos and may the force be with you and UconnS
Likewise. UConn-Kentucky is a matchup of two high energy, high intensity teams. UConn is going to need to play very disciplined, intelligent basketball to make it to Denver. Notre Dame-Maryland features experience vs youth, for one, and a four-guard lineup vs Maryland's length. There's part of me that says, well if UMD had problems with Louisville and A&M, just wait until ND gets a hold of them, but MD certainly has the athletes and size to give Notre Dame problems. Duke will be far and away the best team Stanford has faced since December. Nneka may not have another 35+ game in her, and if she doesn't, can her teammates pick up the slack? And Baylor-Tennessee is going to have a weird vibe to it, one I wouldn't want any part of if I were Baylor. Baylor should win and would win eight times out of 10, but Tennessee is going to fight like mad.Dont know about yall, but im looking forward to all of these regional finals.... i think the matchups are as intriguing as they have been in a long long time.
The odds are very much against it. Even now, it's about 25%, but increases with each win by a 1-seed.
Agreed. But even if each #1 seed has a 75% chance of winning (which is too high this year- I'd put Baylor at 80%, UConn and ND at 70%, and Stanford at 60%), that would mean there would only be a 31.6% chance of all four doing so.If we were talking about events that were a pure toss-up (eg, flipping a coin) then, yes, the probability of all four #1 seeds winning is low. But the #1 seed generally has more than a 50% chance of winning, so calculating the odds of all four of them doing so is (a) higher than that and (b) will vary from year to year depending on the 1 vs 2 gap.
Agreed. All 1s and 2s. Are the top 4 all a notch above the second 4?Dont know about yall, but im looking forward to all of these regional finals.... i think the matchups are as intriguing as they have been in a long long time.
Wow! A lot of you guys are predicting 14-16 point margins. Maybe my crystal ball is a little murky. I think both games tonight will be close for stretches. Maybe a lot of FTs at the end will turn a 5-point lead to a 14-point win, but I think there will be lots of tension. My recommendation to Triad is to have a beer or two ... or more.Baylor 78 - TN 62
Stanford 76 - Duke 62
Unless Johnson & Baugh can get Griner in foul trouble, it's a 20 pt game IMO. I think it more likely the opposite happens with them overcompensating and one or both of them in foul trouble. There's also intense pressure on these TN seniors not to be the first NOT to make a F4. I don't think they're up to the task and this TN team does not play well from behind...I look for them to choke when the going gets tough.Wow! A lot of you guys are predicting 14-16 point margins. Did Rebecca abstain?.
Can 4 out of 5 ESPN commentators be wrong?
They're calling Maryland over Notre Dame by that vote: http://tinyurl.com/7w2e595
.
Yes, because she's calling that game in Raleigh for ESPN. It's mentioned in light italics in the article I linked.Did Rebecca abstain?
