Please, don't go there, he would be getting garbage points, no plays would run through him, he couldn't catch the ball down low...

You are incredibly on target with this. Every coach and sportswriter who named him first team All Big East and an All American -- idiots. The NBA scouts who all would have taken him in the Top 5 of the draft -- mentally impaired dweebs. Luckily, we have one poster who knows basketball.

So the reality that the only real difference in their stats was 2 baskets a game doesn't sway you? Standard boneyard logic. Who cares how they scored their points? If getting put backs was so easy why didn't Emeka score 30 a game with his great post moves?
No, it doesn't . Thabeet was no where near the talent Emeka was, that's indisputable . Emeka would have scored more but our guards and team were pretty well stacked at the scoring options, put Emeka on this years team and he averages 28-30 easily ..

Only on the Boneyard could someone make the argument that Thabeet , the National Defensive player of the year and 2nd team All America wasn't a great college player.............................

As a junior, Thabeet emerged on the national scene, averaging 13.6 points and 10.8 rebounds. He earned his first career triple-double against Providence College on 31 January 2009, with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks.[6] He finished with 152 blocks on the season. He was named Big East Defensive Player of the Year and was co-Big East Player of the Year with Pitt's DeJuan Blair.[7] He was named second team All-America and National Defensive Player of the Year.

easily? You're suggesting he would have led the country in scoring by 2 points a game? Only 2 players in college basketball have averaged 30pts per game in the last 25 years.

Yeah and your a genius lawyer then. Look at their NBA careers and overall career numbers, and who any NBA gm would take on their team now and then if they had to choose between Emeka and Thabeet. Your logic on who and why they picked or voted makes zero sense now that HT had such a short career and is an After Thought in the NBA circles.

We're talking about their impact on UConn, not what they did in the NBA. You are moving the goal posts again because your initial argument is without much
merit.

My argument is he wasn't feared offensively and that Emeka was a better overall talent, dispute that... His NBA career was a joke...

Please all garbage put backs etc, his offensive game and post moves couldn't hold a candle to Emeka, again which is why he had a longer NBA career and would still be playing if not for an injury. Teams still wanted Emeka if he came back, didn't see anyone knocking down doors for HT to come back, nice try though...

Lets just get a 28 year old Hakeem Olajuwon. He's the only big who was truly a threat offensively and defensively.

Although the stats show he was just 2 baskets short of Emeka's average in his best year and his equal on the defensive end. Ok.

Please you can't honestly think he had more of an impact at UCONN than Emeka, craziness, there's no goal post swaying there, that's my point ... Period

Yeah whatever, keep smoking Hasheem pipe, dude was not anywhere near the talent Emeka was and again made clear when he was out of the NBA after he finished his first cup of coffee.

I'm saying their impact was about 2 baskets a game different. That's what the numbers say. Your inability to recognize Thabeet was the national defensive player of the year and 2nd team all america is mystifying.

Does anyone else find it hilarious that this guy keeps acting like if you're not as good as Emeka Okafor, the best overall player in the history of the program, that means you're not good? No one is even disputing that Okafor is better, but he just keeps bringing it up.

There's no inability to recognize that, all I'm saying is Emeka had all the tools of a typical C/PF and HT didn't. Again, I like HT, BUT I'm willing to bet there were more designed plays to Emeka than Thabeet, end of story.. Look, all I'm saying is it would be nice to have that type of player year in and out instead of projects that we hope can help us against the Kansas/Kentucky etc. type of PF/C s of the world. I'm as big a fan as any of you and aren't against you, it's my opinion and all of you have yours, bottom line is I just think Emeka was a better all around player, period.

Look dude, your argument was that HT was just as good or if not better than Emeka. I dispute that and say the opposite, period. Agree or not but what I AM SAYING and listen closely, for the last time, UCONN has not had a player with Emeka's all around ability in a longggggggg time, nice players have come and gone but nobody with the overall tools Emeka had at his position. love to do this all night , and I could but have to go... Thanks for the insight, it was SUPER FUN..

Mohammad bamba could be a top 5 pick in the draft come '18 , if he wants to come here I suggest you kiss the ground he walks on.

At no point was my argument that HT was as good or better than Emeka. At no point in this thread has anyone made that argument. You're a delusional idiot.

Bean Pole, but he has magic beans so yes I'll take him.

You're an idiot, read all your posts, you're defending him like he's a god, walked on water, I never said I didn't like HT or he wasn't valuable . My point has always been, We haven't had a true big man with all around skills as Emeka. Go smoke some more Hasheem...

Who said they were asleep, fool, go start a new thread.

Ya it would be nice to have a center as good as the best center in the history of our program every year. It would also be nice if kemba, ray, rip, and donyell suited up with him. Grow up peter pan

Incorporating a BY meme in to my sarcasm.

Guess that all went way over your head. What a shock [that was sarcasm too].

You're a fool dude, I'm saying it would be nice to land players like that who have a decent all around game and have a frame that doesn't resemble a stick with a head, arms, legs and feet that blown over when another big man runs by or through them, fool.
