Dutch back line is 6-3 and up. We don't have a target striker. Gonna be tough to accomplish.
 
The sad thing is I took Netherlands to make the final at +450 before the tournament began, and while they're easily going to get through this round, they actually look super unimpressive and will probably lose 3-1 to Argentina since this s___ isn't going to work against a better coached team.
 
The Dutch arent even trying ... they are saving their energy for Argentina.
 
I don't think anyone on the squad does less with more than Musah.

Wright is officially the worst player on the squad.
 
Reminds me of the scene in Neccessary Roughness where the QB jams the ball into the facemask of the stone handed receiver.

That was all Pulisic. Wright was a backboard.

They are better and our back line is not good. This was the concern. Jedi has to cover half the field on his own because they other 3 are traffic cones. If he could trust Ream ro cover the back striker then he would have been wider and saw that guy.

There was a lot of that. The key to breaking down defenses at this level is two touch soccer. Our guys lack the quality to anticipate the ball, setup the ball with a good first touch then quickly do something positive with it. Pass, shoot, dribble past the defender. Key part being past.

For some reason we almost never have a trailer.

But our real problem is we don't have a striker and GB spent 2 years using Zardes as his #1 striker. Those minutes should have been used to find or develop one.
 
Mckennie has made a club career being the trailer. Gregg chooses not to play to his players' strengths.

Aaronson in the middle of the field? He's a chaos agent that needs to run the flank

Some weird decisions. Reyna is our best distributor and it isn’t close. He needs to play. Agree on Aaronson.

Jedi is super useful, but his passing in the attacking 1/3 is awful. Dest pushes too far forward and is vulnerable to counters. He’s also not strong on the ball and gives up possession.

Neither CB has the recovery speed we need to play our pressing style. They need to address that. It puts too much on Adams.

Overall lack of physicality is an issue. If we had off the charts speed and skill we could survive without it. Big, physical teams just manhandle us and nobody can hold ground and get a solid header on corners.
