Gio with a lengthy response on IG.
This has predictably gotten uglier after Berhalter decided to air things publicly for no other reason than to save face. I don’t see any way he’s back after this, but with the USSF, you just never know.
So, Gregg flubbed things by telling one of our top players he wouldn't play much. Player let that get to him, which lead Gregg to call out his lack of professionalism. Get rid of GB now.View attachment 81856

I could be wrong but my gut tells me that USSF and Berhalter were fully aligned in the decision to air this dirty laundry. This has predictably gotten uglier after Berhalter decided to air things publicly for no other reason than to save face. Yea, that makes sense. To me doesn't put GGG in a good light. He really needs to move on now. USSF can do better. USMNT deserves better.
I'm new to the team but it really sounds like both sides are probably at fault here.
What exactly does "my role at the tournament would be very limited" mean? Does it just mean not starting or something else?
Gio played the entire second half plus 7 minutes so 52 minutes against the Dutch. That doesn't sound very limited. I understand he played very little up to that point.
Is it common for a coach to tell any player something like that, if in fact he said that?
Is it more likely Berhalter had already decided Gio wouldn't play much or that there were commitment issues?

I don't think there's an American coach that can match the talent of the American players. With such a young team Ggg was still the most inexperienced of the lot.
They need a real coach
With everyone fit they would finish in the top half of those 8 teams. Germany probably wouldn’t.Maybe it's just me but if they had an eight team tournament comprised of 13-20 on that list I would think USA would finish near the bottom.
If they get a real coach who implements a competent offense, I think they’re good enough to be in the top 8-10 of that group.Maybe it's just me but if they had an eight team tournament comprised of 13-20 on that list I would think USA would finish near the bottom.
USA ahead of Germany. How often does that happen? Ausgeziechnet!
