Thanks 99, I just hope that fans appreciate what having a very experience asst coach means when the head coach is out. What is forgotten is that he is replacing a HOF so expectations must be lowered. Not many other coaches in the country can step in like him and not be intimidated or feeling inadequate. Remember as players coaches have to ready to step up, that doesn't always mean win but simply effectively running/managing the team and maximizing effort on the court. Believe me its not as simple as it looks especially if you have been in the background. His experience means that opponent coaches do not have a day off with Calhoun out.
He knows how to coach, maybe not like Calhoun, but who does?
I wonder if they respond more to a guy like George, picking his spots, rather than Calhoun, who yells all the time.
Totally saw that!Did any one notice Kevin Ollie show shabazz how to put his hand up after ANOTHER three pointer was shot in his face and he had his hands to his sides??

SO TRUE!!Caught that too. Shabazz was trying to argue his point, and I'm pretty sure Ollie said "Son, I played 13 years in the NBA. You're not winning this argument."
good coaching by Ollie. i noticed a few people lamenting the 3-point defense. they shot 6-25 and only that Kelly kid had any success going 4-8. that seems pretty good to me, but did we have times where we sagged off too much and they made a bunch in a row?Did any one notice Kevin Ollie show shabazz how to put his hand up after ANOTHER three pointer was shot in his face and he had his hands to his sides??

Not that hard to put a hand up SMH
Yeah that is my 4 year old tebowing in a UCONN cheerleader outfit before the Hall game!Hold on a sec ... is that your daughter "Tebowing" in a Huskies outfit?
3 championships in 11 years.
You're wondering if Blaney might be better than the best coach in all of college basketball the last 11 years?
I would say, no!
Easy there, hoss. I'm not suggesting that Blaney is a better coach than Calhoun. Far from it.
I'm just saying that Blaney's yelling catches one's attention in that rare instance when it happens more than Calhoun's (constant) yelling catches one's attention.
What I was saying is that constant yelling works better than rare yelling. demonstrably. Whatever Calhoun does, keep doing it.
People are always wanting to change what works.
The idea that anyone could criticize Calhoun for his coaching methods just perplexes me to no end.
Nobody is questioning Calhoun's methods. All he's saying is that a quiet guy yelling is more noticeable than a loud guy yelling, and that it might spark the team a little more. Blaney picks his spots, so when he yells, the kids pay attention. Not that they tune Calhoun out, but they probably get used to it.
Don't get me wrong, I prefer Calhoun's techniques. But it's ridiculous to say that a different approach can't work as well. How often do you see Phil Jackson yell? His career turned out alright.
