Or if Tom Moore decides to retire. He'll be 60 next month....Also gives us some insurance if Luke or Kimani move on at some point.
Selfishly I don't want them leaving, but my big fear has been both Luke and Kimani moving on in the same season. It would have to be a lot harder to lose 3 assistants at the same time, right?Great hire, he learned from Jay Wright and should be great working with our point guards. Also gives us some insurance if Luke or Kimani move on at some point.
I hated this guy when I watched him and Allan Ray torch us in Hartford back in 2005 (yes 20 years ago). He was Devendorf before Devendorf. I guess its time to root for the laundry...I remember him from some of our battles with Nova in the mid-00s when I was in college. You're telling me that was 20 years ago and this dude is now 40?! S___ I feel old.
(Good hire though.)
I thought Tom Moore was moving over to GM?Or if Tom Moore decides to retire. He'll be 60 next month.
He isI thought Tom Moore was moving over to GM?
I think that was a jokeI thought Tom Moore was moving over to GM?
Because there was some back and forth about that earlier. He's still right there, involved with the day-to-day operations of the program. He just doesn't hit the road and recruit anymore. He's making how many hundreds of thousands of dollars? Is that retiring? Also, before programs had a title of GM, many of the functions of the position still existed and were handled by an assistant coach. So that was some of my thinking. Why would you think that?
It’s basically what’s happening.

Moore, who was also the head coach at Quinnipiac for 10 seasons (2007-17) turns 60 years old on May 12. He left Quinnipiac to become an assistant under Hurley for one season at Rhode Island and then followed him to UConn to facilitate a smooth transition.Because there was some back and forth about that earlier. He’s a U2 guy.Have we nailed down his position on Coldplay?
I think you missed the thread here. I wasn't calling Moore's move a joke or a cushy job. I was responding to PNolan taking Rich Z's comment "Or if Tom Moore decides to retire. He'll be 60 next month" at face value. I took it to be a quip because we are both older than 60.He’s not retiring - he’s the literal general manager now.
It really is a position that did not previously exist that now needs to with the introduction of portals, NIL, revenue sharing, etc., etc.
I do not think it is any small undertaking either - I suspect that job is intensive and just does not leave much room for whistles and clipboards.
