Anyone doing a welfare check on those St John's billboards in Hartford and Bridgeport?
Its always a bad time to quit.I picked a bad year to quit drinking.
Not this board, just a few punch bowl turd floatersMal was mediocre? You watched a different game than I did. In the game I saw he had 7 assists to 1 turnover and we contained the pick and roll far better in the half game he was in than the half game he wasn’t. But I’m old so maybe my eyes aren’t good.
This was never going to be ‘23 or ‘24 where we won a championship without being tested. But you know what? We’ve won 4 championships where we were tested at some point, and had other great wins that were close, good games. If winning huge games any way you can isn’t enough for you, you may want to look into rooting for the UConn women instead.
God, this board is insufferable sometimes.
He is out there trying and playing through injury. His presence alone helps. You can tell he isn’t quite 100 % still has no lift at all on his shots. But his lateral movement and quickness is right there. His defense tonight was excellent especially that last msu possession
Yup just did it. Said Duke is going to put up 2 fantastic halves against UConn. No credit to UConn for beating MSU. I'm starting to hate him!now time to watch the Turner postgame show and hear Mashburn continue to downplay and take a dump on UConn
yup i just posted the comments in the Duke/UConn thread. He gave more props to St Johns in the loss than UConn following the win, it's been a consistent thing with him all year.Yup just did it. They got the lead by making 6 of 7 3s and Mich St missing a bunch of shots. Things. balance out, and they didn’t panic when the early luck in their favor switched to mich st luck.Blowing that lead makes me sick but heck to the fell yeah!
Bring on Puke!
Everyone's picking dukeI still can’t believe he hit both of them and made it look easy. Thank you Tarris!!!
St. John's tenderized them. Let's finish the job and cook them!Beat Duke. They are beatable.
Seriously. Duke has Iconic championship teams. UConn has lucky performances. The Laettner/Hurley Duke teams destroy any and all UConn teams and it’s not up for debate. The number of championships doesn’t really matter. It’s the quality of the teams that matters. Duke beats us in quality performances and Iconic teams.
Good. We like that.Everyone's picking duke
I sure as hell do. I was there at Tropicana Field. I could not sleep that whole night at the Holiday Inn. I didn't fall asleep until 8 pm the next day.Sunday’s date is March 29.
Who remembers March 29,1999?
It sure looks like a Natty goes through 1 of those 2Duke is the 1 seed I would want to play right now. Have looked beatable for most of the tournament. I would not want to play Michigan or Arizona
The MSU fans were pleasant. The St. John’s fans sucked although their suckiness was put to good use because all of their vitriol was directed at Duke and those who stuck around for the second game were already psychologically checked out. My wife and I chatted with the mother of a Duke student who was very gracious but otherwise they were what I expected- combination of wine-and-cheese snobs, dbags, nerds (i.e., the kids who actually deserved/deserve to go there), and of course legions of bandwagoners.Just scrolled the MSU "only colors" forum and for the most part they are being pretty classy to our guys. Good to see. Out of all the big time programs I respect the hell out of them
He can come on in for Defense as he was even doing that better than Silas and then come out when we were on offense. Either way it is nice to see Silas running the offense better and not dribbling too much. The one time he was dribbling too much we got that offensive foul on Karaban on the pick he tried to set.Malachi does a great job eating some minutes and taking care of the ball. Perfect backup. But for those of you who think he would be useful at the end of a close game, remember he shoots foul shots at about 1 click above 50%. can’t afford that.
Will be a game for Alex and Stew. Stew plays really good post defense typically.I actually agree somewhat with this. I think the problem for them is I don’t thing they have enough at the point. Main question is can Alex stop Boozer?, and if not, at least score on the other end, then it cancels Boozer out. That’s the #1 thing for me. Everything else is a crap shoot.
Soon.@WeAreUCONN
Time to publicly pick a side my friend because we have no room for that bad juju you've been spewing here lately.
It wont be called fairly. Duke is typical Duke outshooting teams at the line 3-1 in this tourneyI just hope it’s called fairly. I was thinking that if Boozer put up 31 and 27 it would be all anyone talked about. Reed is an absolute beast this tournament and is unfairly overlooked by national media.

There was one play where Demary had an open three, but instead dribbled into traffic and lost the ball. He has to feel OK to take that shotBoth teams missed a lot of bunnies, something about those rims. When they canned a miracle three at the end of the shot clock, it felt like it was going to go sideways. The fellas just kept going and ground one out again.
Our FT shooting almost did us in, but Reed going 4-4 down the stretch and absolutely carving out the paint to get the intentionally missed FT was massive. Our seniors led this game.
Silas was tentative, short armed evwrything, refused to make bold passes. MS was very mediocre. We had no second ball handler with Solo and Braylon very shakey handling the rock. I don't know how we got by with that sort of production from our guards.
Solo had an important game for him and us. Not dominant by any means, but we need that to be his floor.
Why can't we just play dialed in all the time? No lead is safe with this team. We match up better with Duke than SJU so I like our chances on Sunday. Going to need to really make Boozer work with Reed.
And so did Smith, and Ross hit a free throwDidn’t Stewart hit a 3?
