Michigan Goes down!

When are we going to stop comparing teams to 23 and 24? The level of dominance those teams displayed in the tournament is not normal. And should not be expected to be seen again.
How about let’s not worry about Michigan losing to Wisconsin in the beginning of January? Don’t make a righteous post about me showing a lack of grounding when I compare our 23’ team getting bludgeoned in conference for a spell to Michigan losing a tight game at Wisconsin. Dumb ass.

In before someone else ignores your point but corrects you that Michigan lost at home.

When Villanova beat Wisconsin Nelson and his followers thought the badgers were the Michael Jordan Bulls.

Michigan has looked like the best team up until the last week or so. Struggled against Penn State and lost today. I still think they are really good but teams rarely go unbeaten. And they almost always have a WTF loss too. Though I’m not sure losing to an 11-5 conference mate on a controversial call is that much of a wtf. Long way to go yet. I don’t really care about others. If UConn keeps winning we’ll be fine.
Turns Nova Wiscy win into a valuable scalp, yes?

If this is supposed to be insulting, it's not. In fact, it sounds like a good call.

Nobody thinks Michigan isn't a title contender. THere is a world of difference between "not a contender" and "god's gift to college basketball". Michigan is neither.

Triggered lmfao. Another closet Michigan fan alert!

1. I’m not “worried” about Michigan. This is all in jest.

2. Why would me telling you or anyone to stop comparing ANYONE, including 26 UConn to those 2 teams anger you?

Welcome to the pile on. My bad lol I pulled the trigger on that comment after seeing one replay from an angle that made it appear very controversial based on my understanding of the rule. It’s either obvious from another angle or I don’t know the particulars of the rule.

I wasn’t trying to pile on. It just looked like the right call as soon as I saw the replay and I wasn’t surprised it was upheld.

I gotchu. I just watched more replays of it and I agree it’s clearly goaltending. And as far as pile on, I think it just came from people replying as soon as they read my comment, so I got like 6 of the same replies about it. As a great man once said, “I :&$@ed up!”

Michigan dropped to first in the pomeroy ratings after that embarassing loss and we dropped to 9th after a dominant win over a tough DePaul team.

If it’s all in jest, then my apologies. I mean that.

However, anyone giving Michigan crap after our 2023 season lacks self awareness. (not necessarily you)

It seems like some folks, don’t realize that great teams hit really rough patches too.

I think they’re mostly giving RuffRuff crap and Michigan is just collateral damage.

I’m more so trolling my good friend @RuffRuff. I understand Michigan is a really good team and losing to Wisconsin in no way means they can be cutting down the nets in march. I just think that 2023 UConn run much like the 2014 UConn run was unique and much more of the exception. Teams don’t normally fumble that much in conference and then have the most dominant run in tournament history.

You’re just mad ‘ cause I blamed you for the hockey team loss last night! 😉. Won tonight 5-1.

It is insane some of the stuff ive heard from people online about Michigan. I mean they are really good but to put them up with the `24 team that is literally one of the 5 best teams of the last 40 years and in the discussion for #1 considering they obliterated the field in the tournament including the team that spent the most time at #1 that season. Theyve achieved nothing at this point. They are in no discussion for greatest anything ever. Win the natty then we can start talking historical relevance.

Most of it was because of sites like Kenpom where people were stupidly using that site to compare across seasons which it’s just not meant to do.

Oh I'm here - see how a narrative can make Boneyarders Unite!

Glad they lost. That team has some softness in the frontcourt I didn't see coming.
Took you until 9:30 to post….helicopters, search dogs and all the locals were mobilizing. Can’t imagine how tough of a day this has been for you.

Is the second touch what they called it for? I assumed it could only be referring to the first touch because otherwise every dunk could qualify as interference in that sense.
Not really because on a dunk you don’t initiate contact with the ball while it’s over the cylinder, it’s already in your hand. What he did would be like hitting a putt and then hitting the ball again while it’s rolling into the cup.

Just the beginning for Michigan. Clearly an excellent team. But.. They have to navigate a tough conference schedule. Let's talk in March and see how giddy they are then.
Playing a tough conf schedule prepares y for March
