Hi Coach,

I 100% support whatever you decide to do. Thank you so much for the last 2 years. If you do sign with LA can I please have the beach house down the shore? Please put up a larger Husky flag, everyone will eventully know who lives there. Nice house btw, see you on the beach.

Sag!!

Hi Coach. What my friend meant to say is don’t do it!!’ Beaches are over rated. After one winter you will miss the north east. Plus, these are not your dad’s Lakers. Jerry West isn’t running the show!! Besides, you are King Kong right now. Why chose to be another little ape? Not everything that shines is gold.

When the Spurs lost their Big 3, I quit watching the nba. It was no fun anymore, at least for me. I’ve never liked Lebron for various reasons but I do hope Hurley does what is best for him and his family. Hurley seems happy at UConn. Would more money make him happier? To me, the answer is no, so I hope he stays happy, and stays here. I can guarantee, I won’t ever watch a lakers game, if he does go but I won’t hold it against Hurley. We all have to make tough decisions in our lives and this might be his toughest. I hope he does what is best for him.

Dear Danny,
Please dont throw it all away to coach a Geritol Lakers team that has NO SHOT at winning a Title next year. In a few years, you have your choice of coaching the Celtics, Knicks, Nets or Sixers.

Dear Danny,

If you want to be #1 Hurley you need more college rings than your brother and a longer tenure at one school than your dad. While this will result in you coaching well into your 80s we know you’re up to the task

Best wishes

If Lakers win all credit to LeBron. If they lose he will savage you. if you have to go to the NBA wait for a better situation. .
I actually think this is his best move regardless of me being a diehard UConn fan. UConn fandom aside, his best move would be to continue to kick arse at UConn for another 3-4 years or until the NY Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, or 76ers coaching jobs open and we all know one of them will. He will have more leeway to rebuild the teams to his liking. The Lakers organization, although very prestigious, really doesn't have stability and patience and seems to operate more like a reality TV show. Plus, they really don't have any movable and tradeable assets.

Nah. He just needs to realize this is home and stay for 15-20 years. I don’t want to hear boo about the Knicks or anyone else in a few years.

I would be happy to see a CCSU Alum pass the reigns to a UConn coach. This I can accept if Bill Murray and his son take over in a sort of Rodney Dangerfield eque “Back to School” UConn coaching remake on Prime. This is the way.

Dear Dan,

From one Dan to another, it’s been a great ride. Back to back is more than I could have hoped for the last few years. It would be special to attempt the three-peat though. It would cement your legacy not just at UConn, but in basketball history. I know you’re considering that as a reason to stay and I know you want to challenge yourself at the next level. Maybe now’s the time, but maybe there’s a better time for that jump. Either way, I appreciate you rebuilding the culture and the getting the brand back front and center.

But one last parting thought, imagine you being the UConn guy for years to come. You winning more championships. You picking your successor when you retire and being “the guy” that the next guy can talk to for advice. Cement your legacy.

I feel a little bit better after this Dan to Dan conversation.

My best,
UConnDan

Dear Coach:
LA is on the Pacific Ocean and is named the lakers. It makes no sense whatsoever. Nothing is real in tinseltown. Stay home and forgetaboutit. Teach young men to play basketball. Teach them about hard work and determination and achieving their goals. You know, you can sum it all up in just one word: courage, dedication, daring, pride, pluck, spirit, grit, mettle, and G-U-T-S, guts. Why, YOU've got more guts in your little finger than most of us have in our large intestine, including the colon! Don't become a lost journeyman like slick rick. Own your lane. Be the ball. Cannonball it!

I’ve not seen the proposal, but let’s say 10M a year, guaranteed for 3-5 years. Do you say no? I‘d say, where do I sign?

Dear Coach,

Go watch the Nika Muhl & Geno goodbye. That is what God put you on this earth for, to change the lives of young men.
