Megan Walker

Has the light come on for her? She's playing much better at time when will need her to be productive. I'm happy for her, and for us.
I see that light flickering. She seems to have a high resistance connection. Those tend to either fuse and complete, or burn open. But I am happy to watch when the light is on. I am sure she has a bright future , and will get over her current issues. She is a natural and everyone in the BY has high hopes for her.

Impossible to prove except for what I've seen over the years and that is the refs will call a foul on a freshman that they wouldn't on an upperclassman.
Agreed. Several of the hand check calls on MW were pretty “ticky-tack,” although the foul call when she ran right over the Cincy player trying to set a screen was certainly a foul.

game-to-game performance and assessment is just noise. My prediction remains: 2020-21 NPOY.
What is the vig , Bags?

That's an AWESOME response-do you happen to have the minutes played per chance, that would be interesting.
Give them an inch...:D

I think that also goes for substitutes in general.

Watt are you talking about, Ohm my God I couldn't disagree more. Your logic is almost circuitous. Allow me to illuminate you on this subject, because you have really amped it up here. Only your last sentence is over arcingly correct.

Meg's stats are comparable to not only Moriah as a freshman, but also Tuck, Gabby, and Pheesa as freshmen.

It seems that Meg play better when someone is injured. I think she tends to defer to the upperclassmen in terms of shooting. When someone is out, Megan moves into the #6 slot and feels a greater sense of urgency. These are 4 of her best games:

UCLA (Lou out)

Notre Dame (Lou and Gabby out)

Temple (Lou out)

Cincy (Gabby out)

She's still adjusting to the information overload at UConn and the higher level physical demands, but she's getting there. I look for a nice sophomore leap.

It appears that the Dogged 1 has boned up on his Electrical Circuits 101. Your knowledge appears to be approaching infinity!

I don't know I like when he posts about current events. I got a charge out of it. I'm not sure why it phased you.

I remember saying in an earlier thread that if Walker was given a consistent 25 minutes per game she'd average 12-15 points and 8-10 rebounds per game................I fully expect to see those numbers at a minimum next season............

I have a high level of resistance to this entire line of discussion.
Are you suggesting that we phase it out? You do not have the capacitance keep the connection? I do not understand Y there has been such a Delta in your appreciation. It seems there is a disconnect that may be interrupting the flow of things. ;)

Agree, she keeps passing up open shots. I keep yelling at the TV, damn girl, shoot already!

Of course a lot of them (bench players, 2nd string, scrubs ) pass up open shots. Sometimes it's like they are so intent on trying to run the offense, they forget the object of running the offense is to get open shots and take them.

You're right. Meg is passing up some shots, I think because having the "light go on" at UConn means playing w/in a system, not hunting shots. I've noticed that she looks to pass first almost all of the time, actually overriding her apparent inclination to take a shot. She knows by now that she is not the primary option on the floor and is surrounded by great scorers. So, to fit in, means helping the shooters get their shots.
Say what you like. Meg is going to start next year and have a real chance to be the great player we know her to be. Freshmen wait in line at UConn, as so many of you have pointed out over the years.

I was talking more about Molly. Meg will usually take her shots. Especially when she's on the floor with other bench players.

Ok, so I take a few minutes off the the topic becomes incandescent. We should stop inducing this polarizing effect on the board. We should shunt this negative energy into something more positive before there is a complete overload. I don't think this is shocking connection what Bama had in mind when he started this. So get the LED out and move on.

I am totally SHOCKED by some of the responses in this tread.
Time to rectify this short circuit and get back to poor old Meg. Lest she be transformed by the isolating trend we have been conducting lately. Thanks for the fun play date everyone! It has been an ionizing afternoon. Go Huskies

About halfway through the season, I thought that MW was showing progressive improvement....then, there was the kickback from Geno stating that he had no bench, and he wanted to take the uniforms away from the reserves.
From that point on, MW had to restart and pretend the season was starting again. I am not questioning any moves that were made/or not made, I was just upset that a top recruit had to begin her initial season with the team, 2 TIMES!
The team is now in the final leg of the season. I am not worried about next year; I am worried about this year.
We all know this team is injury prone. What if: there are hurt players not available in the NCAA tourney? .......Is MW ready to step in and give the lift the team will need? I think that answer should have been available much earlier in the year.
