NC and KLS have sparked a run. Collier posting hard is creating driving lanes and she's got 6 quick points. She also got her hands in on another ball and created a tie-up.

Next year's starting 5 will be super talented for TN:
diamond
cooper
mercedes
jones
graves or carter

TN missed out on a FF b/c of bad guard play on the offensive side of the ball. They played stellar defense for 35 minutes. I am ready to see the newbies take the floor.

TENN has never been short on talent. Playing together as a cohesive unit has been challenging.

Collier has 8 points, 10 boards, and 2 blocks. She and KLS love to trap together and it's done some damage.

.-.
Collier even sets screens, freeing up Lou for a three to cut the lead to one possession. Unfortunately, Lou missed a potential tying three.

The issue has never been the talent they have. It has been too many individuals and coaching.

TN has had talent but they have not had THIS much TOP talent since 2008. That's the truth.

No to be a downer, but that starting five has:

1. A kid that hasn't played for a year
2. A freshman
3. A kid recovering from a knee injury (recovering mentally is as difficult as recovering physically)
4. A kid that played only 7 games this year and is recovering from a concussion
5. One former starter from the previous season

I wonder if Holly Warlick might go with a less talented, more experienced lineup until the team gels because that starting five has no experience in playing together.

It is easy to be a team that plays good defense and craps the bed offensively. You should be more than ready for the "newbies".

3. Not knee, surgery on both feet.

The only one that will likely start is Diamond, because she is too good not to, even with a year off. She will likely be a preseason AA.

The other spots are up for grabs. Bash will likely be a starter, as she is a Senior with the most experience. I'm waiting to see how Russell does this summer in Italy. From what I've heard and seen, she is already better in terms of last season in terms of S&C, speed, and power. She hasn't played in a year though.

Holly will have options, and that's a good thing. They will have to compete for a starting spot. However, everyone will get minutes if they earn them.

I wouldn't look for Tucker to make a lot of noise. Anyone that says differently isn't being honest. I hope she proves me wrong. I want her to have a chance, especially after all she has gone through.

Sorry, faulty memory. And there have been too many knee injuries lately so I sort of latched onto that.

I like our players but Tea cooper is GOOD
Some people have thought that she's really good; others have thought that, other than taking the ball to the hole, she's not so elite.

How tall does Collier look? 6'1?

She could be 6'1", but she was skinnier than I thought she was. AND she has really long, thin legs but she's quick. I knew KLS was thin, I just didn't know Collier was just as thin. A year from now, we'll be seeing more muscle on them & more mature bodies. They have the frames to fill out without losing speed. UConn will get them built up & strong soon.

You sure you aren't confusing Collier with Boykin? Because Collier's thicker than either of the other two.

Collier is not that thin. KLS is certainly the thinnest of the 3 recruits but Collier has developed shoulders. see pic.

They're all skinny! Collier played & rebounded well, but she's still very thin even against other HS girls. All legs. Not complaining, just making an observation.

Napheesa has really long Stewie-like arms :) I didn't care how great Lou did or did not play in this meaningless, for-fun showcase. After the beating she took against Chaminade and St.Mary's, I was greatly relieved that she felt healthy enough to even play. The kid I wasn't at all familiar with but was impressed by was Stephanie Watts.

I know they're paid shills, but the over-the-top announcers led you to believe there were 10 Stewie-level kids on the court at all times.

NC is also one of the few players that doesn't bounce the ball before taking a foul shot. And she's a great free throw shooter.

Definitely thin. I've seen her pictures, but against other players in the game, she was thinner than most. hence my comments thats she was thinner than I expected. Did you not see her legs?

Also should note that KLS had 12 points, 6 or 7 rebounds, and a few assists.

Does anyone remember how skinny Swin was during the WBCA All Star game at the Civic Center. She looked skinny and gangly as a high schooler and she turned out pretty good....basketball and looks wise.

The feet is correct. Now how you predict starting out of two foot surgeries is beyond me, but Tenn fans are cock eyed optimists to be sure. And the two at 5... well, maybe there will be a transformative summer experience.
