She could be 6'1", but she was skinnier than I thought she was. AND she has really long, thin legs but she's quick. I knew KLS was thin, I just didn't know Collier was just as thin.

You sure you aren't confusing Collier with Boykin? Because Collier's thicker than either of the other two.

Collier is not that thin. KLS is certainly the thinnest of the 3 recruits but Collier has developed shoulders. see pic.

They're all skinny! Collier played & rebounded well, but she's still very thin even against other HS girls. All legs. Not complaining, just making an observation.

Napheesa has really long Stewie-like arms :) I didn't care how great Lou did or did not play in this meaningless, for-fun showcase. After the beating she took against Chaminade and St.Mary's, I was greatly relieved that she felt healthy enough to even play. The kid I wasn't at all familiar with but was impressed by was Stephanie Watts.

I know they're paid shills, but the over-the-top announcers led you to believe there were 10 Stewie-level kids on the court at all times.

NC is also one of the few players that doesn't bounce the ball before taking a foul shot. And she's a great free throw shooter.

Definitely thin. I've seen her pictures, but against other players in the game, she was thinner than most. hence my comments thats she was thinner than I expected. Did you not see her legs?

Also should note that KLS had 12 points, 6 or 7 rebounds, and a few assists.

Does anyone remember how skinny Swin was during the WBCA All Star game at the Civic Center. She looked skinny and gangly as a high schooler and she turned out pretty good....basketball and looks wise.

Sorry, faulty memory. And there have been too many knee injuries lately so I sort of latched onto that.

The feet is correct. Now how you predict starting out of two foot surgeries is beyond me, but Tenn fans are cock eyed optimists to be sure. And the two at 5... well, maybe there will be a transformative summer experience.

Seems like tenn recruits are always leading scorer in this game. Wasn't Mercedes MVP when she played. Cooper looks like she might be as good a Massengale.

That's about right - Shanna Zolman , Alexis Hornbuckle & Meighan Simmons were all MVP's in the McDonald's Game. How did that turn out? ;)

Although she played pretty well, Maya Moore was not MVP when she played either. ( Jasmine Thomas won it) Anyway, shows how meaningless the game is.

Cooper and Collier impressed me the most tonight. Not a lot of good post play. KLS will fit nicely into the UConn offense... and Geno will bring her defense around.

It's hard to judge too much from a HS All-Star game.

If Tenn's talent meshes and stays healthy they're definitely a Final Four team next year by March. If it was my team I'd play Cooper from Day One and let her take her knocks... I don't think she's the kind of kid that gets discouraged. Tenn's weakness will be a backup for Russell (assuming she stays healthy) and lack of another consistent long-range shooter. I believe Holly understands the value of team discipline and keep a firm grip on this team. Her career will be on the line if she can't deliver a FF over the next two years.

Some people have thought that she's really good; others have thought that, other than taking the ball to the hole, she's not so elite.
I disagree. I think she will be very elite. The only negatives may be not much growth at her chosen college, and her wanting to dominate the ball to much. Other than that, her elite talent is obvious. The right coaching and attitude her and Diamond will without question be the best backcourt in the country two years from now. And I REALLY dislike TENN.

TN has had talent but they have not had THIS much TOP talent since 2008. That's the truth.

All they have to do now is get a coach like they had in 2008.

When you watch the game, it's apparent that Maya's skill set was by far the most advanced.

Some people have her ranked at about #3 in the class; some have her closer to #15. What do you think?

I'm not sure there were 10 Stewie-level players on the team in Istanbul. Well, maybe, but give her time. :)

First off, she has been cleared for full basketball activities since January. She and Diamond have been practicing full go for almost three months now.
Secondly, she is by far the best post on our roster and with only Nia on the depth charts. Not to hard to see why we project her as a starter.

It's going to be Reynolds, Draya, Diamond, Bash and Mercedes IMO with Nared, Middleton, Cooper and Jones as the main reinforcements.

Evelyn Akhator has an offer from Tennessee so we could see some much needed depth added to our frontcourt. She is the top ranked JUCO at 6'3.

Cooper has stood out to me since her freshman year at McEachern.
KLS is going to be fun to watch dominate the perimeter.
NC is blue collar and talent to the highest degree. Really like her game.
Anigwe is by far the best all around post in this class right now.

Te'a Cooper deserved Co-MVP and should have won the award by herself. Yes, she took shots to score, but I also saw her pass to ball to Katie Lou and other that were wide open. I don't think she played as if I'm getting my points to heck with everybody else, which is common in these All Star Games. She played an all around great game contributing where she could.

The fact that she has a long time relationship with Diamond is going to help the Lady Vols. I guess the starting PG for the Lady Vols will come down to Andraya Carter vs Te'a Cooper. Wouldn't be surprised to see the Te'a win the starting job, even though Andraya has the experience. What's unknown outside of the Lady Vol coaching staff, is what kind of on court Chemistry has Diamond formed with existing players during this Red Shirt year

BTW, I went into this game expecting to see Te'a as a showboating player only concerned about herself. I was pleasantly surprised and lament she's going to the Lady Vols:)

Reynolds started at PG this year, with Draya as the 2. Draya can play point, but in terms of the PG, it would be between Reynolds & Cooper.
