Just saw a video of him where he says he wants to be a dentist after basketball. The kid must be pretty smart if that's his goal, good for him.

I suspect 5'8".

Anyway that's perfectly fine for the college Div 1 game. He will abuse taller players with his speed, quickness, deftness and low to the ground ball handling. We just need to not look at him with NBA eyes for a few years and enjoy his anticipated guard contributions he brings to the college game.

Personally I love small college point guards, they really flourish at this stage and make the game exciting.
He's 5'10.5" in shoes

Don't understand the comment 33% career 3pt shooter for Alterique given the stats we were shown on his high school link.

Probably only going by AAU stats, where he was 33% from three.

Why are they having this at the Chicago Theater? This looks really awkward.

This looks horrible . I'm confused, it's basketball do it on a real court.

It's a beautiful old theater for concerts and any kind of stage performances, not for a freaking basketball competition. It would be like having midnight madness at The Bushnell.

Yeah it seems quite inappropriate

Rivals: From an effort standpoint, you had to like what Connecticut-bound point guard Alterique Gilbert brought to the table. Gilbert gave any squad he was running with a charge of energy and really looked like he was there to compete. He's the smallest player here by a pretty considerable margin but gets after it.

247: Connecticut commitment Alterique Gilbert also impressed with his passing. Along with his playmaking, he was the one defender who could keep Malik Monk from having his way to the rim.

A lot like Boat in his takes to the basket but seems more under control with the ball, a little less flash and more PG mentality.

All they talked about was Puke's and Kensucky's recruitment - always displaying graphics over the action
AG did some nice things - he's going to be a "real" PG

Gilbert hasn't checked in yet, but a few observations:
- Bam Adebayo has brick hands and will be a rebounding machine limited by foul trouble
- Lonzo Ball is a terrific passer, as advertised.
- Josh Jackson is super athletic. Actually really does remind me of a scrawny Wiggins.
- Monk is going to be a terrific scorer this year
- Fox is quick but his shot is ugly
- Gonzaga has their next stud in Collins. I didn't realize he could shoot from the perimeter. Post game looks polished too

The game is well into the 2nd qtr and Alterique hasn't played while some players have been back in multiple times.
