I had concerns about this game. Marquette coming off a dominant win versus Providence and playing with house money against UConn. Looking at highlights from that game, they looked sharp and athletic. There was no way this was going to be an easy win. No excuses, though. This is a game the Huskies HAVE to win with so much on the line. Very, very disappointing.

I get why Hurley was angry with all the pent up frustration, and then the no-call on the foul by Gold but it should not have come down to that.

2 wtf losses means the team has issues....clearly not a 1 seed. Can regain some title aspirations though if win BE Tourney.

Absolutely deserved to lose this game and to get all of the ancillary repercussions that come with it.

Our inability to play games with intensity and purpose all year long finally is having some real repercussions.

Blew an outright big east regular season championship, blew a number one tourney seed, killed any momentum rolling into the tournaments. what a disaster.

Maybe it will be the wake up call that this team finally needs, but I won’t be holding my breath.

This is why I try to watch less sports as I get older. 6 Natties including 2 of the last 3, a 4 loss season and I’m pissed off and my weekend ruined. It’s win or feel like death
Opposite for me. Getting older and going through a lot worse things in life makes sports seem trivial. I enjoy watching and get a little annoyed at losses for a few minutes then I move on.

The only silver lining I can find is recalling how the 2014 team got smoked by Louisville 81-48 in the season finale. But Louisville was ranked 11th in the country at that time so there's not a ton of similarities.

Silas was fouled...not even a close call! Total joke

Too bad UConn waited until 4 mins left to start playing and let the refs blow the call.
That wasn't getting called at that point unless it was egregious. It looked like Gold may have slightly dipped his arm and got him but in real time he looked pretty vertical to me. Just Hurley venting over finalizing a face-plant against the worst team in the league, lost regular season title, and lost one seed in that one play.

Wonder if St. Johns will go on another cross country celebration tour for winning the BE regular season title.

The check engine light was on for a long time, the car caught on fire today.

Inexplicable performance after a week off. Inexplicable for the team to go away from Tarris. Inexplicable for AK to not even show up in the last regular season game of his career. Mullins bricked everything from three but they were pretty much all wide open and he's a freshman, I give him a little bit of a pass.

Hurley had a week off with the guys. Sometimes horrible shooting happens and it sure happened today. We were missing wide open ones for a lot of the game but there's no reason for them to look this disjointed in March and there was no reason for them to start jacking up bad shots instead of going down low to Tarris later in the game.

One of Hurley's worst performances. Team looked unprepared, they completely abandoned what was working and they were undisciplined. Hurley capped it all off by getting in the refs face and getting tossed after the game was over.

Terrible game by Danny. Did not get the guys ready at all. Will be suspended probably for the first BET game. Just no subbing pattern, poor use of TOs. Poor all around and this falls on Dan.
A shoutout to Ross for playing hard at least. AK with a milk carton game
Why would he be suspended?

I keep seeing draft board updates from respected media like Wasserman(BR) and Vecenie(The Athletic) who talk to team execs/scouts who say they're not worried about Mullins not putting up crazy counting stats compared to the other elite freshmen because of the system and UConn's balance. Forget big counting stats, at what point should he actually be expected to play well? He'll take the occasional deep long ball that he never makes but he's consistently bricking wide open shots. It felt like board consensus that after he got settled into the lineup that he would emerge as our best player and he's not anywhere close to that. This game would have been a dbl digit halftime lead if he could make an open shot other than an non contested lay-up.

Wrong. #1 is severely in jeopardy if not already gone but we could lose in the quarters and keep the #2 considering how flawed all the projected 2-line teams are (which presumably no longer includes Florida).
Playing Florida in a blue would be terrible. Terrible.

Not sure how you don’t come ready to win a Big East regular season title. Absolutely embarrassing from the coaching to the players.
Not just the coaches & players.
We fans were distracted, internally combatant, and more interested in being right than supporting the team in being focused on the only game that mattered this week.
It happens.

Well, at least the free throw shooting was awesome today.

When you shoot 3/24 on 3's, your "sniper" is 1/10 including many open looks, and then 10 (!) steals, what can you expect?

This team is the equivalent of the 2020 Pittsburgh steelers. Good record, not a very good team.
If I’m remembering the right year, they lost key players after a great start..plus were forced to play 3 games in 10 or 11 days.
