He has to be the guy getting the ball at the end of the game. I don't care if he's hoisting up a terrible three. Better odds than anything else we've tried. So many big shots this season he's hit when the team has been either trailing, tied, or clinging to a lead. Not just a great shooter but a great shooter under pressure.
Well said! How was this not a pretty win? UConn beat a top 10 team on the road, without its best player and with his PG hurt, and led wire to wire, with the lead never getting closer than 6 after about the 4 minute mark of the game.
Making 3sHow the hell can a team win with 25 turnovers?
Loved the stepback 3 from Solo tonight...KembaesqueThis of course, is gonna come across as hyperbolic, but I don’t know that I’ve seen a dagger player like solo since Kemba or Shabazz.
And Cam.Nice to see AJax watching on in attendance. Can we get him to more games? Seemed to be a good luck charm.
last game that comes to mind UConn defeating Washington in the Sweet 16 in 2006How the hell can a team win with 25 turnovers?
With all the negativity around our sophomore class and Samson giving them the shoutout.Alex played a very good second half too I thought.
Yes agreed not as good a player over all but man that shot is the definition of pure.I mean obviouslt Ray was a far better player as a sophomore overall? But as a PURE shooter, nothing else considered? Solo may honestly have him beat.
Making 3s is a defenseMaking 3s
Moving Ross over to cover kam Jones basically saved the game.Obviously Solo.
But many unsung hero’s. Stewart’s cold blooded start. Ross’s defense. Samson with a phenomenal game and made all his free throws. Tarris provided value! Hass gutted it out. AK played 40.
And how about our coaching staff. First game all year we essentially switched 1 through 5 on defense most of the game. I loved that. It fits our pieces so much better.

If you watched the game it was not a pretty win. The unforced errors(turnovers) were egregious and we won largely because it’s a horrible matchup for Marquette. That said, if you read the box score, it’s beautiful. How was this not a pretty win? UConn beat a top 10 team on the road, without its best player and with his PG hurt, and led wire to wire, with the lead never getting closer than 6 after about the 4 minute mark of the game.
What's with this national Marquette day anyway ?
Yes but would be out of league quickly. He needs to stayKnow both are hugely valued in the NBA, but so are defense and ball handling for a 2 guard (and he’s a bit undersized for the 2).
Does he get drafted this year simply because he can shoot so well, and has athleticism to show potential as a slasher? Junior year Solo with the haul coming in would be a wild ride
Alex has had his share too, recently. But your sentiment is definitely right. With all the negativity around our sophomore class and Samson giving them the shoutout.
