I said to my son in the beginining of the season, no matter how good you are, during the BE tournament and NCAA it is going to come down to the last couple of possessions.

If this was the first time it happened I woudl not be as concerned but we can say this is a trend now.

Why can’t we run a play for Karaban as he seems lhe’s the only one that wants the ball during crunch time! No one else does that much is apparent - square up Jordan! Why you falliing away!

And dang Clingan tonight, can he can learn to get a better handle on the ball? Most rebounds or loose ball he lunges and never comes up with ball. For every easy putaback he has, he should have 3.

Tired of posters saying it’s bad coaching. I saw so many lazy plays by us throughout and no communication. That’s not Hurley’s fault. I know you guys saw it when he grabbed Sanogo and Newton and said, what the duck are you guys doing?. They seemed tired from yesterday, just low energy.

Newton missed front end of a 1and 1 and we ran two great plays to get to a wide open Joey and he bricked them. The last one was after a timeout to set him up.

Otherwise great game by two great teams.

It's just one game. But unfortunately now we really need two wins in the NCAAT for this to be considered a successful season to me. I said in September we needed 3 post-season wins, and I still feel the same way. Gets that much harder with another quick BET exit.

Not feeling great right now.
If we don't win 2 games in the tournament it's going to be a terrible look. Fingers crossed we go on a run.

On to MM. Don't lie to yourselves this is a different level of achievement than other years. Sucks we lost. On to March. We control our destiny going forward. Hard to beat a team after they want revenge for kicking their A**. Lets get back to MSG again this year. Redemption time. Don't trash Hawkins he was being face guarded by a 6'9" lethal athlete. Could we have won this game? Yes. If we win even ONE game in the NCAA's we've gotten "over the hump" tough game but we don't remember losing in the AAC conference tourney in 2014 for a reason. On to the tournament. I love this team I love this fanbase I love rooting for this team and bottom worst case scenario we just watch a college basketball game that's as good as it gets. We lost vs a team that we match up with poorly.

My only complaint is that we didn’t call a TO at the end.

Hawkins still has a lot to work on.
Two complaints- 1) If you’ve got a team that’s notoriously bad in end of game situations, why don’t you take the TO to get things organized? 2) What was going on with all the miscommunication on perimeter defense? Ton of wide open corner threes when one guy was caught trying to cover two shooters.

We're a very good team.
But we are not a very clutch team.
And Marquette gave us chance after chance.
This. Both the players and their coach seem to get awfully flustered in important situations. I am hopeful about the tourney, but it’s easy to see a close loss happening to a team we should beat.

You can’t take the timeout home. What on earth is Hurley thinking? Just terrible execution. Hawk and AJax didn’t step up when we needed them. They were both very, very poor. We just don’t have a killer instinct.
A timeout gives the defense a chance to set up too. Going off the rebound lets you get a look in transition, semi-transition, a broken play, whatever. I don't mind that.

What I do mind is Jackson and Hawkins showing up small again. These guys are running out of time to show that they're winners.

Horrendous execution down the stretch again, it's a terrible pattern ever since Hurley took over. No points our last 5 possessions and we weren't even close on them. Can't have total no shows from Hawkins and Jackson like that.

Congrats to Marquette, they earned it.

Joey missed two open shots, it would have been great execution if they went down.

Could only watch the last 10ish minutes. Was a great game to watch as a basketball fan, but upsetting to see us chip away and chip away and not get over the hump again. Congrats Marquette for a great win

The zone worked with Clingan, not so much Sanogo. Thinking of that wide open corner 3 where he didn’t move from under the hoop. That was a weird looking zone. Seemed like we were playing zone on the left side of the court and leaving the right side alone?

Idk. We missed some good looks from 3. Fatigue? Too much pressure? Coin flip? Who knows. All I know is that we missed, and we lost. If we choose to live by the 3 and die by the 3, we better make them next week. We don’t do moral victories anymore

Hawkins needs a revenge game in NCAAT. I feel confident in a 4 seed and a run to the sweet 16 if we play to our standards. When he stepped back, I thought it was money. Credit to Jones there, flawless recovery defense. Looks like he might have got a fingertip on it

I’ve been hard on Hurley plenty this seasons. This is not the time for that. He changed defenses. He adjusted. Played Donovan a lot.

We had 2 wide open shots to win.

Issue was jackson playing absolutely terrible. And it was all foolish mental mistakes.

And Hawk missing shots he normally makes.

Nightmares about wide open Joplin - who was covering him? Also during an early time out Danny said something like you faced their best defense and they can’t sustain it. So wrong
