March other NCAA games

I've been impressed with Chris Collins over the last few seasons, especially leading the team to the NCAA Tournament in the last two seasons despite the program's academic standards and profile that is very different compared to their Big Ten compadres.

Very good defensive coach and a solid developer of talent.
Good coach. I still relish the fact that I was present to see Chris Collin's Duke team lose to Eastern Michigan in Indy.

Some early rumors Chris Collins a top candidate for Nova.
I dont see Collins leaving NW for Nova. A Big10 school with football money and NIL for a Catholic Big East University that lacks and or does not have the ability. I would think NW has a bunch more resources (NIL ETC..)
NW I believe is the most expensive school in the country.

I wouldn't want to run in to Michigan State. Well-coached, 13-4 in Q1 games, and haven't lost in over a month (last loss on 2/11 to Indiana) despite today being their 7th game against a ranked opponent in that span.

They're up 8 on Wisconsin right now.

They’re a Wild team - not sure I’ve seen a more starless team that distributes the scoring load more. Jace Richardson has been a great freshman, a total selfless Izzo team. Not massively talented but play hard and athletic. They’re like StJ light.

We would have played them had we beat Memphis - and Memphis did beat them. I’d still take playing them over the SEC teams as a 2. They’ll be interesting to watch, may have some magic right now.

Disagree on this one - Nova will manufacture the NIL. Nova job has clout and history, NW is the Vandy of the the B10. Stuck in a losing position.

Nova has incredible resources for basketball. There's a reason Northwestern has always sucked in basketball.

If Nova wants Collins and Collins is interested in winning he will take the job but I don't think that's the route Nova will go.

Sure, but again UConn has to win that first round game and that is far from a given. I remember in 2022, when lots of people here were speculating UConn as #5 seed being able to upset Gonzaga as the #1 seed in the Sweet 16 and possibly being a dark horse for the Final Four. I posted here that UConn was very capable of losing their first round match and the fans shouldn't be so overconfident and I got blasted for it, but lo and behold they did to #12 New Mexico State. I get it and I hold no grudge, I posted it on a UConn fan site so it's understandable people did not like my post. But people look so far ahead. With this team, they need to realize the first round game is a 50-50 bet.

Nova needs to get a sure thing this time. Villanova is an excellent basketball brand, they shouldn't be settling for less. Is getting Collins settling for less? Not sure, but they can do better.

I by no means expect an easy win in first game. Coin flip. We have shown an ability to lose to really bad teams over being able to beat really good teams.

No I did think you did in particular. But my expectations for this year after the McNeeley injury and also after I left Hawaii was that a Sweet 16 is a successful year. At this moment, the draw is everything in the NCAAT for this UConn team.

I am quite familiar with Villanova, prolly more so than anyone on this board. My company does all the work at Villanova, I am also a member at the same CC as Jay Wright. Villanova has money ( I typically have 4 guys working g there everyday.).and rss but their NIL budget is small 3 million area.

A lot of big programs with lots of money looking for coaches, Villanova, IU, Iowa, Minnesota- not a lot of top coaches looking to move. With NIL and transfer portal- AD's and fan bases want instant results. They won't wait 5 years. Dusty May to Michigan was a home run!

Ball don't lie moment as Broome misses both FTs and yet the refs screw it up again on the out of bounds call. Thankfully it will be reversed on review.

Another missed out of bounds call that will be reversed on replay, these refs have been a disaster. 3 botched calls in about 15 secs of actual gameplay, thankfully review exists to fix 2 of them.

and academically far superior

and as a basketball school a little piece of dung on the bottom of Nova's shoe. He's a basketball coach, he's not going to be running their journalism department.

Kudos to Dusty May .....incredible turnaround.
He is young and has tons of resources at U of M

With auburns loss it’s between Houston and Duke for #1 overall and I’m giving the edge to Houston if they win tonight. Winner of UF/Tenn gets the last 1 seed. I’m hoping this is how the top 8 shakeout:

1 Houston (W against Zona)
2 Auburn
3 Duke (L to Lville)
4 Florida (W against Tenn)
5 SJU (W against Creighton)
6 Tenn (L against UF)
7 Bama
8 MSU

Watching the Florida - Alabama game they look both more athletic and under control than UConn. The ball handling looks superior as well.

We definitely need to address our size and athleticm in the portal.
Florida is impressive
