March other NCAA games

With auburns loss it’s between Houston and Duke for #1 overall and I’m giving the edge to Houston if they win tonight. Winner of UF/Tenn gets the last 1 seed. I’m hoping this is how the top 8 shakeout:

1 Houston (W against Zona)
2 Auburn
3 Duke (L to Lville)
4 Florida (W against Tenn)
5 SJU (W against Creighton)
6 Tenn (L against UF)
7 Bama
8 MSU

If the ACC as a whole was even a decent Power level conference Louisville wouldn't win half of their games. Somehow they'll be a four seed in the tournament.

Dickie V is in complete Duke glaze mode right now. Complete 20 minute Duke-out. Almost tears. I’ll cut slack because he was sick, but this was the worst ever

He was emotional because of what he went through, 4 battles with cancer, his life on the line. Yes he was in tears to be able to do what he clearly loves and he knows that this could be it for him as far as being able to ever broadcast again.
Let me say this about my neighbor in Lakewood Ranch ( he has the monster home), he is responsible for elevating college basketball and helping to build it into what it now is from his early years job at ESPN. It was his enthusiasm and personality that made it fun for fans to watch unlike other broadcasters who were as serious as a heart attack.
So yeah he’s old and rambled a bit but with good reason.

That may actually mean something if was an objective announcer. But he is not. Simply an extension of the ESPN/ACC Dook/Ratface love fest

Whatever happened to Andre Johnson Jr? He transferred to Utah Valley and they're playing for the WAC title right now and looking up AJJ he's only logged 5 minutes all season in 1 game back in November. Injury?

Did you watch the game? They lost by one possession to a top 20 team on a neutral court and there was some controversy over a no call at the end. They still have the 2nd most Q1 wins in the country.

Really? Impressive. I don’t remember that, but I’m not being a jerk, I genuinely don’t.

I was feeling Florida was a dark horse until about January and then I went into full blown Gator mode. I don’t know if they’ll win the tourney, especially with less star power than others, but I think they’ve been the best team most of the year despite Auburn and Duke being the consensus picks. I didn’t remember others with similar opinions.

They have 2-3 of the best wins all season and have consistently been great.
 
I really don't know what to think about this Duke team. There's no denying their other worldly talent and length but every time I see them play another so-called "upper echelon" ACC team like Louisville, its the other team handing the game away with a ton of stupid decisions / unforced errors. How many of those mistakes are a product of Duke's crazy length and athleticism? Either way, teams like Houston, St. Johns, Florida, etc. aren't going to be gift wrapping games in the Dance like these ACC paper tigers have been.
 
Has James Jones ever been approached for a big time job or has his preference been to just stay at Yale? He's been winning there for a long time.
 
Ivy Madness rocks. The 4 team format is great. Playing it on campus is cool but I could see it being better at a permanent host site with more capacity. Get all the Ivy alums/fans together for a weekend in a major northeast city. Think it could bring a lot of excitement.

Yale is a good team - this Mullin kid impressed me a ton at St. Seb's playing with AJ Dybantsa and he's been great today. Really hope the Harvard @ Yale game next year isn't on the same day as a UConn game, I'd like to go.

Yale is the right job for him. He's 61 and got a great thing going. I'm sure he's paid handsomely. I don't think being a great Ivy coach necessarily translates up that well either. He wouldn't be a high-major candidate and if you're him do you really want to go try to rebuild a middling A-10 team?
