March other NCAA games

SEC tourney in Nashville probably second coolest venue to MSG. Great call - that arena is going bananas. The SEC man, those fanbases bring it.
 
Not sure if it is normal. But watching the tenn vs Florida game. Sec refs like to call fouls. Buy they do it evenly. It’s bonus + both teams at 8 min. St johns wouldn’t have any players left with Sec officials.
 
Assuming VCU is in already....George Mason looking to steal a bid...down 1 with 2 mins to go
 
Watching some of the SEC games, it reminds me how important it is and how UConn used to always have two high level combo guards. That single roster construction misstep will likely result in our exit.

I still don't understand why Hurley didn't make it a priority to add at least 1 long physical lead guard to replace Newton. It was an obvious hole to fill. If he had, our chance for a three-peat would have been a possibility. It would have made up for some of our deficiencies. There are simply no current roster solutions to address this.

Oh shoot. I recorded the last 2 minutes of game time of that game because I was watching the ending of Florida+Tennessee. I will have to check that out now.
 
Bubble teams have 1 more hurdle it looks like...Memphis is flat vs UAB so far. Memphis is trailing by 5 late in 1st half.

Compare the A-10 Tourney environment to the AAC Tourney....the American is a dead bb conference.

If these Sunday championship games do not play a role for the selection committee, why does the B10 continue to do have its championship game on Sunday ? Is the reason due to TV contracts ?

The B1G championshp doesn't play much of role in potentially screwing things up. They're not the problem as the two teams in that game are always already firmly in the field, and the committee has ample time to make any minor adjustments if there's an upset. It's the American and A-10 finals that should be moved to Saturday. Having to account to two bubble busters in contingency brackets means at least four different potential brackets need to be created prior to Sunday, and given travel considerations (regions), the odds for under or over seeding become much larger in those alternative brackets.

It's pretty silly. All of the brackets are already done and have been done for a few days. Last year the East region had UConn (#1 overall seed), Iowa St (B12 champs), Illinois (B10 champs), and Auburn (SEC champs). Only reason I can think of on how that is possible is that the brackets were done before the conference tournaments ended. Makes no sense to do it that way

This Memphis / UAB game could go down to wire....committee needs an alternate bracket in case UAB wins since they can't plug them in to play-in round.

Not crowning anything - I’m observing how a roster was built of a top 2-3 team this year to see what can be construed. No one said we have to copy, but it’s worth seeing what can be learned.
 
If this game big 10 game went into to countless overtimes, would they just continue with the selection show or hold it off?
 
Great job by Penny this year, I thought when he fired his staff on the cusp of the season that he was a dead man walking and he ended up having his best year. If Hunter is healthy for the tourney he has a team that can do some damage.

He was the best player on their team in Maui. If Memphis doesn't have him, they are not going far, and it doesn't look like they will have him according to this article. He was in a walking boot.

Biggest thing I’ve learned.

Schedule Big 10 teams in your OOC.

Mich state, mich, Maryland, Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois, etc.

They aren’t nearly as good as the best SEC or big 12 teams. Yet they will be metric warriors as the season progresses.

I think Florida should be the #1 overall seed this year. Reasonable minds can disagree with me, but if there is a conversation about the #1 overall seed this year, that conversation has to include Florida among the other teams like Duke, Auburn, Tennessee, etc.
