I agree they have a chance, although I don't see how, especially with the RPI being of less importance to the selection committee than it use to be.
Don't know how accurate this website is, but they have Monmouth 4 spots behind us on their S-Curve. That loss to Iona should be a catastrophic blow. RPI will be mid-50's. Say we beat Cincy and lose to Temple, we'll have similar RPI's and a much better SOS. I would argue our wins are more valuable, with no bad loss.

Not sure if the committee gives them credit for winning the MAAC regular season going 17-3 vs. finishing 6th in the American going 11-7.

Is this team in?
19-12 RPI 58, BPI 39, Kenpom 41, SOS 43 8-9 top 100, (1) 150+ loss

Can't tell if that's Cuse or Vanderbilt but I would say no.

I looked up who it is. I don't like the idea of them as an at-large, but their numbers are flying up the board.

Yes, but 4 more teams to an already crowded Bubble doesn't help....beat Cincy and don't need to worry about it.

It also doesn't hurt if all 4 have worse resumes than UConn.

Watching Horizon League semifinal matchup between Oakland vs. Wright State.

I love that Oakland's Max Hooper has taken nothing but 3's this year. 229 field goals attempted and all have been 3. In fact, he's got 396 FGA in his time at Oakland. 388 of those have been from 3. And he's made 162 of them (42%).

The Horizon just exploded in a bad bad way

Our resume can get much better in AAC tourney or worse with a loss to Cincy. Witchita St & Monmouth are done so they can't help or hurt themselves, many other bubble teams can either help or hurt themselves, some undoubtedly will help themselves....if you think we can lose to Cincy & still get in I would say that is very unlikely....a loss to Cincy would put us behind Witchita & Monmouth on most boards.

Per bracket matrix rankings, these two sites have been the most accurate, and by a decent amount, over the years for "bracketologists" with 3 or more years of doing it.

http://assemblycall.com/bracketology/ - 1st team in the last 4

Connecticut

The good news for Huskies is that they don’t have any losses outside the Top 80, which is more than most bubble teams can claim. The bad news is that outside of victories over SMU and Texas, there aren’t many quality wins on their profile. Sure, a split with Tulsa and a win over fellow bubbler Michigan help, but they were swept by Temple and Cincinnati and also lost to Syracuse and Gonzaga, all of whom are in a similar situation.

All that adds up to a 6-10 mark against the Top 100 heading into a matchup with Cincinnati in the AAC Tournament. A win there should seal the deal, but a loss will leave UConn sweating out the rest of the week.

http://131sports.com/ - 11 seed, but with a bye

duke pulls one out against NC State, Pitt beats cuse and boeheim says the committee should not count the games he wasnt there for, more games on now and later tonight

the NIT could be stacked with current and former Big East teams, they should play the entire thing in the Garden.

The one time I hope we're not there. How far does Xavier and nova go this year in the tourney?

EPIC choke job by Duke in the 2nd half. Lost in OT to Notre Dame.

Iowa is an absolute mess. Just lost to Illinois. Wow.

Puke has just moved up to a 2 seed after losing a tough 16 pt lead in the final 3 1/2 minutes of regulation
Earned a seeding spike due to Grayson Allen's sobfest at the end of the game

is it me? and I know they can play out different but todays games are less interesting to me on paper than yesterdays even.
Tomorrow it gets good I think

Depending on how Indiana does in the B1G tournament, Duke is a 4 to 5 seed. I think if Indiana wins, that gets them to 4...maybe 3 seed if things break well. If Indiana is out early, their a 5 seed that people don't really want to play.

Watching the San Diego State- Utah State game (yes, I am). That has to be one of the worst officiated end of games I've ever seen.

Utah State got absolutely screwed so the MWC can try to save their pathetic #1 seed

Go Tennessee, up by 1 over Vandy. Can Rick Barnes coach them home? Is that asking for a miracle?

(Not hitting send on this until the clock hits double zero. And until this shot gets waived off- wow)

But why is Vandy such a lock? 13 losses in the weak ass SEC. BEFORE this loss, they were 48 RPI. Advanced metrics look good, Ken Pom/BPI both 23. So before this bad loss (RPI 142), their resume was BARELY better than ours (56/30/29). Yet they're a 9 seed. Lunardi is a clown.

And the committee shouldn't count the games AB didn't play - if he did a few of those should have gone the other way

This is a brutal loss for them. They can hang their hats on home wins vs. A&M and Kentucky, but both at home and they are 3-9 on the road and 5-10 R/N. They now have 3 sub-100 losses. That's a lot.

The SEC is barely better than the AAC by any available metric. This team has put itself in trouble. Their RPI will drop to near 60.

Their advanced metrics (minus KPI, which has them at 70 before this loss) are great...better than ours. We'll see how that changes though. Probably not much.
