Just wondering everyone's thoughts on March Madness without our beloved Huskies in the picture this year? I mean we've had NIT teams a few times also so it's not like this is a first. Fr me I still love the madness despite and will be watching the first 3 rounds with hopes of upsets and Cinderella's.........still the best show for me as far as the WS, Super Bowl etc etc..........admittedly a bit of a different feel not having hope or being on the bubble but still love the college game!!

...........oh yeah and Cuse sucks!!!;)..........another nice thing about the madness is the hopes of the Orange chi**ing themselves vs. a Murray State...........and watching the most moronic fans on the internet come up with so many ideas as to why!!! Should be fun......

Is Cuse setting up for a 3 or 4 seed with a tough game the first weekend?

It's a hard year to figure.

I'm not high on Syracuse or Louisville this year - both of them just have so much trouble scoring at times. I think their point guards are suspect under pressure. Georgetown was impressive yesterday, but I don't think they're a threat to win anything.

Actually, I don't like any of the Big East teams, save Nova.

Miami, the malfeasants, could go very deep - their profile is almost like the typical mid-major that makes a deep run....they're about as old a team as you can field without having to offer daycare services to the players' kids. Experience can beat talent and Miami adds just enough talent to the mix.

The SEC is garbage, top to bottom. Mizzou is the second best team in that conference and on a neutral court, UConn beats them. (Phil Pressey is the most overrated player in the country.)

Pac 12 is crappy, Big 12 outside of Kansas is crappy.

I expect the mid-majors powers like Gonzaga and Butler to have a good tournament. I think CUSA and the A10 will overachieve. In the end, though, I think Duke and Indiana are the two best teams.

Michigan and Michigan State are two teams that if they are "on" are going to be tough to beat.

I actually think the two best teams are Indiana and Louisville. Their two guards do have the tendency to put their heads up their asses at times, specifically in close games, but at the end of the day it's virtually the same team that was in the Final Four last year giving Kentucky a brief scare. I don't think you'll find a better frontcourt in the country than the one Louisville has, and aside from Izzo, I'm not sure there is a coach in the country I trust more with a day to gameplan. All five of the games they've dropped this season have been winnable.

Aside from those two, there are eight other teams I think can win (in no specific order): Florida, Duke, Kansas, Syracuse, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Butler, and Miami. Michigan is inconsistent defensively, and their offense basically consists of shoot as many threes as humanly possible. That's a recipe for disaster in the NCAA tournament, without even factoring in their inexperience.

Also, is it just me or is Mark Gottfried a terrible coach? They have the talent to win the whole thing but instead they're floating towards the bubble.

Gottfried is going to blame his ineptitude on UNC's academic scandal and Miami's players getting paid.

I wont be watching as intently as in past years but I will definitely watch and I am rooting really hard for Cuse to bow out early like they usually do. I could care less about the league and how the Big East does. Seems like a year when any team in the Top 25 can make a run. I think Butler is going out early this year but I like VCU. There is no GREAT team out there which should make for a fun tourney. I really can wait for it to end though because then Uconn is back in the mix for the next one!

I thought about this yesterday or as the days wind down. I'll be doing a lot of other things until perhaps the final four. I may peek now and then but my interest is low. Unfortunately being spoiled with our success, I feel this way every year after UConn is eliminated. However with the demise of the BE, this year without UConn I could care less.

Hopefully a Cinderella will emerge to peak my interest.

Root for Big upsets, that's the thrill for this year.

I will be rooting against Cuse, Florida, Arizona, Louisville, MSU and any other team that has 4 final fours or a chance to tie us at 3 National Championships.

Zona only has one title

It really sucks for me because I run the freakin pool in the office. The surprise I will have to win it all is Wisconsin. I'll have another entry for Mich St to win it all. I really hope Kentucky doesn't make the cut.

I probably will boycott the tournament, because really, duck* the NCAA.

Okay, I might watch the later rounds if someone makes a Butler-esque run. This would actually be a GREAT year for a no-name school to win it all. It would pose no threat to our tally, and would set the precedent for when we start winning NCs out of a mid major conference in a couple years.

Fishy - you're totally off your rocker on Miami. I was hoping they would get a 1 seed, so they could be the first 1/16 upset! Smoke and mirrors all year in a crappy ACC.

If Indiana wins, I can live with that. I'd like to see a school like Gonzaga break through. I haven't seen a game with them in it all year, but they're going to be highly ranked, and they have a Top 10 RPI for the first time in a while (ever?).

Also, a Gonzaga win does nothing to shift the balance of power at top schools.

I hate to say it but the B10 has a good shot of one of theirs winning it and having 2 in the F4..........

Louisville just has too many bad stretches to win 6 in a row and Siva/Smith inconsistencies will show through against a solid team........never know....

Florida, Zags with the right match ups, Hoosiers, maybe Wolverines..........can't see Duke w/o Kelly...........
