March Madness 2nd Round - Special Monday Edition

This is a good old fashioned arse whooping.

I am not at all pleased, unlike Fishy, but this is a mega blowout. Both ends of the floor. I may root for USC to win this thing.

Zags tourny to lose, I'm loving the West Coast dominance in this tournament. I never think the Pac is good but they are unreal this tournament.

The games have been awful today from a competitive standpoint. Closest was probably Michigan/LSU.

This Kansas disaster makes UConn's loss look like just another dorm lounge couch burner. This is the Towering Inferno even!

The most interesting aspect of the rest of the tournament is how the Pac12 manages to get zero teams into the Final Four

They've absolutely dominated this tournament but it will be the non-Pac west coast team holding the hardware at the end.

If chalk holds the rest of the way, your final 4 is:

Gonzaga defeating Creighton then USC after defeating Oregon
Michigan defeating Florida St. then Alabama after defeating UCLA
Baylor defeating Villanova then Arkansas after defeating Oral Roberts
Houston defeating Syracuse then Loyola Chicago after defeating Oregon State

Who's calling the upsets.

Baylor and Gonzaga are close to locks for the Final abour, but any of the 8 teams in the other two regions could make it.

But if you were ever going to have an off the wall winner, this really is the year.

Maryland vs Alabama: 77 pts, 53.3%, 32-60 overall, 10-17 from 3, 3-7 FTs.
Maryland vs UConn: 63 pts, 51.2%, 22-43 overall, 9-18 from 3, 10-14 FTs.

Maryland's offense arguably improved vs Alabama and they still got crushed. Any of the Alabama deniers wish to change their opinion that the Tide might actually be a good team?

Unrelated, but Andy Enfield seems to be turning out to be a pretty decent coach and not just "Dunk City".

Alabama is about offense more than defense...their scoring defense ranks 144...

But they are #1 in 3 point attempts and #29 in Scoring Offense.

Will be interesting watching Michigan...Franz Wagner, their 6'10" guard is tough to defend...he averages 15 pts and 7 rebounds....

With a 7'1 traditional Center, big 6' 10 guard in Wagner and a 6'10 forward....they can put length on the floor...

I think Alabama has a good shot. I think it is crazy to pick against Gonzaga, but they may have the toughest road of the remaining high seeds.
