March General CBB Discussion Thread

Omg I didnt realize the AAC tourney was in friggin Birmingham Alabama.

There but for the grace of God ….

Not if Duke also wins the ACC I don't think. But I wouldn't say 100%.
All 3 wins would have to be incredibly close plus indication that both players are done for the season.

We want to be the top #2 if not a #1. So we get placed in the East.
I don’t understand why you keep stating the obvious to me. Have I not demonstrated I understand what the permutations are and how they are most likely to play out?

We can’t have it both ways with Houston. Them losing helps us get the 1 in the south (if UF loses) but them winning helps us get the 2 in The east (bumps us down the s curve if Duke remains #1 overall).

Always a personal choice and many factors, but he will never win a title there so I guess he's not that interested in advancing his career.

What job opening this year would’ve given him that chance anyways??

Wisconsin battling Illinois.

No big names this year but they’re a solid team. They can hang with anyone.

Iowa St - helps if they beat Arizona first because Arizona is the 3rd #1 seed and possibly could fall to 5th overall and we go up to 4th overall = 4th 1 seed. More interesting is if Kansas plays in the conf final as they are as close to the home team as any there in Kansas City.

We want Clemson under the general rule: anyone playing Duke, we root for.

Realistically if Duke loses they likely would be the 4th 1 seed dropping 3 spots but still considered a top 4 team so that's won't help us as much as make us smile.

I’m not sure a loss to Iowa St drops AZ below us, in fact I’d be shocked.

Arizona, Duke, and Michigan all have 1 seeds locked up and Florida pretty much has the final 1 seed locked up.

Arizona could lose to the Phoenix high school JV team and still be a 1 seed

It’s a predicament. We want Zona #1 overall and we want ISU as a 2 seed instead of Illinois. I think we need to root for Zona and then hope Duke and Illinois lose.

Is that really the shot Wisconsin wanted in a tie game and 20+ sec to go?? A 30 footer without having passed the ball??
On to OT.

It's not that the seeds are locked, it's just some are locked.

Duke is a 1 seed wether they lose to Clemson or not, either the #1 1 seed, or the #2, #3, or #4 1 seed.
Michigan is the 2nd 1 seed so still doubtul if they lost, they would fall out; likely just reshufffle the 1 seeds.
Arizona is the 3rd 1 seed so a loss 'could' put them down 2 but maybe just 1 notch to #4 1 seed
Florida is the 4th 1 seed - if they lose and we run the BET we are a 1 seed, not them.

Illinois is going to lose, check that box.

I think there’s very little chance we drop below 2, just a matter of what draw we get.

If FL loses this round and we win the BE, we could move back to the 4th 1.

AZ and Michigan are locked. I wonder about Duke. IF they lose badly tonight and IF the committee dings them for the injury, is there a world where they slip to the 2 line??
