March General CBB Discussion Thread

I was an advocate of Miami OH making the tourney simply because i hate having mediocre P4 teams getting in ahead of them.

But, man, losing to UMass in the opening round of your tourney. I don’t know……i think they are out. And should be.

Another bubble just burst. No way a 28-1 Miami team gets left out (yes, I’m not counting their three non-D1 wins as the committee won’t either.

What are they going to lean on now that the shiny “undefeated” is gone. Will be an interesting Selection Sunday.

They won’t. But there’s an argument they should. The bubble being weak is their saving grace

Well they were never leaning on being undefeated including the postseason in the at large conversation. By definition they had to lose to be in that conversation

Losing in the title game might have been ok but to UMass in the quarters? That's a tough look
Yeah….i dunno. Losing to Akron woulda been fine. But this?

They may very well still get in. But it’s not a given.

Does the committee throw the Cinderella advocates a bone by letting them in? Would be a smart PR move on their part. Sacrifice one P5 at large for some high visibility good will.

Sure you can say that. But all anyone has been leaning on is “how hard it is to be undefeated”.

The whole discourse has been centered around them being undefeated.

I mean what else could you cite? Their impressive wins?

If SH makes the BE title game who would you say deserves it more?

Lots of people predicted Miami would lose in their tournament. Saw it coming. I'm guessing they still get into the NCAA Tournament. But 2 teams from the MAC? Some bubble teams just had heart palpitations!

Their WAB is still going to be around 1.75, which will be around 40th. With how crappy the bubble teams have been this year, that's probably still good enough.

Agreed. The bubble being weak is why it’s even a discussion. I kind of want them in for the theatre of it

Miami, my point all along was an undefeated regular season was what made them deserving. The conversation has always been about an undefeated regular season though. There is no conversation if they had an undefeated post season as well.

This loss being Q4 and Q3 tomorrow will definitely put them in Dayton though. But with how bad the bubble is Seton Hall would also be deserving if they make the Big East title game

Makes sense.

They’ve been playing with fire for a while now though. Ohio probably should’ve won that last game.
