March General CBB Discussion Thread

We have a difference of opinion on what “fact” means. I honestly don’t care what “WAB” tells me about the team with the 360th ranked SOS.
Actually, we don’t. When you say you “honestly don’t care” you are saying you don’t find a fact determinative of a conclusion. Again, you are entitled to do that. But you are not challenging the fact — just saying you don’t view it as material.

It’s interesting that 9 of the Top 13 KenPom teams play with very deliberate tempo (AdjT) and rank in the bottom 1/3 of D1 for pace.

That is interesting. I have noticed having watched Duke of late, they have evolved into a very deliberate halfcourt team, taking advantage of their defense and Boozer. Would not have thought Houston would be that low - doesn't seem like it favors their roster TBH, as they have shooters/athletic bigs. They're close to dead last.

In order of preference on who wins:
1. UConn
2. UConn
3. UConn
4. Arizona
5. Michigan

67: St John’s
68: Duke

I’d like St John’s to go far for the sake of the conference. I don’t want them to win. I don’t like them.

Also can't get an offensive rebound and giving up a ton of easy 3pt looks that StJ is missing.

Georgetowns complete inability to box out or rebound is annoying. They're giving up free points. 15 offensive rebounds given up - bad basketball.

They had their chances despite the no calls. Cooley has zero control to stop their impatient stupidity.

I've watched most of the 2nd half of the Florida vs Mississippi State game. Just such a lack of defense, plus a lot of running and gunning from Mississippi State. I know UF is big but Mississippi State looks tiny.

I admittedly haven't watched a ton of the SEC this year, and I know each league tends to have its own style of play. For those that have watched at least a fair amount of SEC ball this season, is this lack of defensive intensity the norm? I know UF is good but with how little defense Mississippi State has played I'm not shocked UF scored 100 again. It is genuinely one of the worst defensive performances I've seen all year.

If this is the type of defense played night in and night out in the SEC, UF is not going to look this dominant in the NCAAT.

Yes, the SEC is low on defense and size (other than Florida). They have some of the most telltale high KPO, low KPD teams in Arkansas, Alabama, etc. Only 3 teams in the top 30 in KP. Part of me does think them leaving that conference could be a bit of a shock to them. The B12, for instance, has 6 team in KP top 20.

DP is a weird player. I really do wonder if he makes that Kansas team better. I don't touch that kid with the first pick given the options.

Saw that. Peterson was pushing him out of the way and looked the aggressor even if the call was wrong.
Self must have said something egregious because it didn’t look like he was being that animated to warrant a rejection.

That’s literally the reciprocal of Ruff Ruffs list!!

Kansas hanging in, now down 4. But there are weird stats for KU - 20 OReb but only 3 second chance points. And 5-17 on layups. They've taken 60 shots, 12 more than Ariz St., so that's keeping them in this thing, even if only shooting 30%.

If ASU loses this game, ASU should fire BH tomorrow morning. BH is letting his players jack 3 pointers from 30+ feet with like 25 seconds left on the shot clock,

Everything about Kansas this season is weird and off. They look great at home and they stink on the road. Peterson plays when he wants to throughout the season and he looked great doing that when he was in there. Now that he's playing the whole games he is totally hit or miss.
