March General CBB Discussion Thread

Calipari has had guards who were graded as better NBA prospects but none of them were as good as Acuff has been this season.

Dunno about that when one of them literally played in the NC game and was MVP in the NBA in Derrick Rose but Acuff is up there. Now Acuff may have better stats but the team record Rose's Memphis team had is a testament to how good he was.

Veteran, well constructed Memphis team that had a first team AA sharing the backcourt with Rose in CDR. Arkansas doesn't have another player on that level. I'm not saying Acuff is on Rose level as an NBA prospect so him winning MVP isn't relevant, Rose as a freshman was not doing what Acuff has been doing at the same point, and that was Conference USA.

The 2nd Mountain West semi-final game didn't end until well past 2:00am EST and they're quickly turning around and playing the final at 6:00pm EST

Vanderbilt playing Florida tough. I already didn’t like Florida but Golden is annoying. He asks for a review on a hook and hold when there’s nothing there and after the review explanation he continues to argue. Surprised he didn’t get a T for holding up play.

even the announcers were begging the refs to just walk away and stop entertaining his complaining haha

Florida defense playing like an SEC defense. This one going in the right direction. Vandy shooting lights out though, UF ain't - not sure this will last, hoping it does.
That's Florida's issue. They don't shoot it well (except for Haugh). They throw it up on the backboards and go get it. If you rebound with them (don't get destroyed on the glass), you will be right there and likely can and will beat them. I don't think they are anywhere near elite defensively.

Haugh doesn't really shoot it all that well either from deep

No, and they use their big on the perimeter to handle the ball and Vandy did a nice job of picking their pocket out there into transition points. Golden usually does a nice job making halftime adjustments. If I'm Vandy, I may look to slow this one down a bit - tough call. Vandy played them tough a couple months ago too.

Wisconsin erases a 15 pt deficit to Michigan and the game is tied at 56 with 6 minutes left. Rapp from Wisconsin erases a 9 pt deficit in 90 seconds with 3 consecutive 3s. He is looking like Rashad Anderson and Ben Gordon in the Elite 8 game vs Alabama.

Rapp has hit 2 more 3s. Wisconsin up 2 now.
