March 19 non-UConn games thread

MSS is in a dogfight. Again, I say these 2nd round opponents for these #1 seeds are just digging in. Welcome to creeping parity y'all.

I almost forgot that UCLA and Creighton had already played this year, on a neutral court in Vegas. UCLA really struggled in that game and Creighton game planned very well.

This game is a different story.

I know Rellah Boothe is out for the season but I dont even see her on the Texas bench? Anyone else see her?

vowelguy, I love your posts, so please pardon my goofy post below.

Whose resume wouldve warranted a 4 seed instead of GA? Answer: Duke for 1, Oregon State for 2.

This just isn't true. Georgia had a better resume than either of those two.

Is this the beginning of a pull-away run for Mississippi State?

Stanford starting to pull away again, 52-38. Smith and McPhee have combined for 30 points. McPhee has been struggling shooting the previous 4 games. Would be big for the Cardinal if they can get her going again.

She was suspended from the team. Don't expect her to ever wear a Texas uniform again. Her 2 predicted championships will also be put on (permanent) hold.

Don't even get me started!!!! I don't understand all these 1st and 2nd round rematches. I mean making Oklahoma State go back to Starkville and play Mississippi State??

Ohhh...Didnt know she was suspended. Wow!

She's transferring? Does anyone know what schools she is looking at?

Looking like UCLA is going to be the ONLY 3 seed to advance to the Sweet 16.

I have a theory, there is one screaming banshee fan at every game. I can definitely hear her in the Mississippi St. crowd.

We need to trace the new contours of women's basketball. Georgia, a supposed SEC powerhouse is getting shellacked.

LSU loses to a mid-major.
Miami of the so-called "best conference in the country" gets whacked by Quinnipiac.
Tennessee, the supposed greatest program in history, goes out in the second round- again, losing to a perennial also-ran Pac-12 league team- Oregon State.
Florida State, a 3 seed, gets whacked by Buffalo.
Florida Gulf Coast (who? I mean, who?) takes out the SEC's Missouri.
No-name Creighton takes out the Big-10's Nebraska.
And let's not forget that one of the most storied teams with one of the winningest coaches- North Carolina- lost in the first round to upstart South Carolina.

This is a New World. Everything is changing, except UConn and Coach Geno!!!
What's this crap about a Oregon State being a "perennial also-ran PAC-12 league team"? That was HARSH. Oregon State has made the sweet 16 3 years in a row. They also made the final 4 a few years back. I realize they are not UCONN, but what other team is right now?

62-45 Stanford late in Q3. FGCU is 11-31 behind the arc, only four 2 point FGs. That is just crazy. I know that's their thing, but you have to have some balance don't you?

My Watch ESPN stream for Texas froze. When it finally started up again Texas was leading by 14. McCarty's shooting heated up. 4 min left in 3Q, Texas 59- AZS 41

It feels like this batch of games is pretty much decided. I don't think we'll get any buzzer beaters tonight.

66-48 Stanford at the end of 3Q

UCLA up 71-45 after 3Q

I think Texas is gonna take care of ASU, but I'll take 2 out of 3. Nobody underperforming per their seed, which some other conferences can't claim...

Reminds me of when Nikki McCray was a coach at South Carolina. You'd think someone was sticking a knife into her for 40 minutes the way she carried on.

The UCLA vs Texas game should be a good one. Both teams are playing well.
