Mac update

This guy has lots of potential. We will be battling with the best of them for Mac.

“he recorded a double-double in front of several staffs including Illinois’ Brad Underwood who got Etienne’s first official visit in the month of February.

“The atmosphere was crazy and the student section was crazy. The game was great and you could really see how they run their offense around their big men,” Etienne said on his visit to watch Illinois face Iowa.

YIKES!

This is like the exact same thing that happened with Cockburn. Illinois out of no where....

Illinois probably got involved when they got word cockburn was leaving. Lots of playing time

‘Reclassifying is still an option’

i dont care if mac isn't quite ready to contribute. if we don't get sanogo i'd rather keep building for the future with a mac reclass, instead of signing one of the remaining grad transfer bigs that will barely raise our ceiling next year. it looks like there's a steep drop off after brandon johnson.

Plus, Mac is already building a lot of momentum with big time schools so let's lock him up now.

There will be no shortage of suitors. Top programs were going to catch onto Mac sooner or later.

If we don’t get Sanogo and a Mac reclass is an option, it’s a no brainer for us to offer that rather than leave a vacant scholarship.

My grandpa knows his great grandma and she says there is a 70% chance he’s coming to UConn, 30% chance prep year and NBL in Australia

70% chance UConn in 2020? Or 2021? He isn't graduating so a prep year would be the year after next. Thanks

I doubt great grandma is getting up to date news, like offers from Kansas and Louisville. I'm sure he'll tell her the next time they speak.

COOL bro!

We can't underestimate how much being local in these times may play a part. Parents may not be able to just jump on a play to see him play this year nor may he be able to just shoot home during Christmas break to see his friends. It's a different world right now with different considerations in every recruitment.

He may be a better center option than Sanogo is for UConn.

Dan Hurley wants his center to be able to hedge out on 3 pt shooters, then recover quickly back to defend under the basket. Mac looks more fluid and mobile than Sanogo and fits this defensive scheme better.

He has more quickness and a more versatile offensive game while Sanogo is more of a force underneath and on the boards.

Would be absolutely ecstatic getting either.
