"Found a neat article from 2009 when Luke was just getting started as a 23yo assistant with Post. Some good UConn mentions in there, including Calhoun. Didn’t realize the roots went any further than his Hurley connections".
"So somebody like coach Calhoun is more important to me than some movie star. I'm still struck by guys like coach Calhoun and I look up to them. They're what I want to be".

Great post UConNick. This young man is focused. Now he can join DH, Moore and be living in the program that JC built. Bleeding blue!

Where are all the people on here trashing Hurley for not playing identity politics in this hiring?

Shout out to Hans. Has really stepped up his GIF game and has been El Fuego the last few weeks . Clearly putting in the time in the media lab.

Has a promising future in this space.

Loved KFree as a player for us, was relentless with his effort on the court! Unfortunately, for whatever reason(s), it didn't seem to translate to the AC position. Hope he's successful in his new role.

That said, Luke M. looks a homerun hire! We already know the talent he can reel in and are already seeing this morning how respected he is among recruits! He has a great basketball mind as well, but it's his attitude and desire that seem to have DH most excited! Hurley's words seem to suggest what he thought was lacking in KF's approach.

Regarding Luke, Hurley said, "He has an extremely smart and talented basketball mind and has the commitment level and passion that we need to elevate this program to the championship level where UConn should be."
