Good win on the road.

Not so crazy about the 20 turnovers and 17 offensive rebounds given up. LSU actually took 16 more field-goal attempts than UConn, and both teams made the same number of field goals (22). The difference: 3-pointers (14-26 vs. 0-4) and free throws (18-21 vs. 9-17).

We're there lots of TO's , yes. Sloppy , yes. But watch the replay if you're able to. Even though we got many open threes, everything inside the perimeter was contested. In fact all of our movement was contested as well. Bumping every cutter and bodying up on every player. LSU was out manned but they played hard. Their style of play creates "sloppy". But the silver lining is - Good to endure these types of things to get used to the physicality of some teams.

And the officiating was dreadful. The female ref was especially bad but not alone in badness.

It was physical, but most of them seem to be overthinking things, or trying to go too fast. All fixable. Happy to see all the kids getting playing time. They all need the experience for post-season.

That was the worst played game by a UConn team in at least five years. LSU played hard--I'd suggest harder--but UConn was awful except for the three point shot.
You know that Geno played primarily freshmen and sophomores, right?

Boy, this after the third game of the season, a 23 point win on the road with a new team led by a bunch of young players. The crowd here can be brutal.

Butler took a step back. Just not looking for a shot. CD- learned that assists are not automatic. Saniya reverted to previous form.

Still glaring hole underneath. Gabby and Napheesa's being forced to foul in order to keep LSU out of the paint is something that's becoming chronic. Nice that KLS began shooting 3's. But 3's will not be enough when it gets to Maryland and Notre Dame and the others.

As Coach Geno put it, this entire season is going to be a struggle.

A few key people can be brutal. Most of us realize this was a nice road win by a very young team working hard to get used to each other.

I understand the roster situation. It's not brutal to point out what I saw. I'm not hammering them for it, just stating the observation. They played very well, by and large, against Baylor.

I am happy at least KLS is good tonight. Lots to learn in the future.
