Ray Allen as a junior averaged 23 points per game and was a first team All American. Surely you're not expecting anything close to that. Or are you?
He literally wrote that he does.

My best friend who is a Wisconsin fan (grew up there) said to me mid season, "You have that guy who has the best looking shot in college since Ray Allen."
Okay?

If those are the expectations then I don't want to hear any complaints on here when he's "only" averaging 16 or 17 ppg.

Btw, last player at UConn to average over 20 ppg? Is it Caron Butler over 20 years ago?
There was this guy named Kemba.

But yeah - it’s been pretty rare. Felt like we used to always have one. Cliff, Smitty, Donyell, Ray, Rip, Caron. Since then, the Bazzes and Boats and Adamses and Bouks have maxed out at 18 ppg … other than 2011.

Yup, Kemba. How did I miss that?!

I look at next year's team and see multiple guys in that 15 points per game range. Kind of like 2023-2024. Just too many scorers for 1 guy to average over 20 ppg.

Adama avg’d over 20ppg in the tourney in ‘23. Closest we’ve had in a while, and shows coaches could prob make it happen for top caliber guys.

But, it’s highly unlikely we have a 20ppg player if we have a good team, just too much sharing of the rock. The best problem a team can have.

Haven’t had the first practice yet and already setting unrealistic expectations. I mean I hope he develops into one of the best/clutch NBA three point shooters of all-time also but dayum, that’s a bit of a leap in one summer. :)

If he can improve his finishing at the rim I don’t see him not being our top scorer next year.
He needs to develop a right hand. Literally cannot finish with his right.

We have a lot more offensive firepower maybe but Solo scoring 20 would surprise no one. Just looked it up, Solo was 14 and 41 %from 3. Ray soph year was 21 and 44% from 3.

I really like Solo and think he can be our best offensive player next year and be the leader of the team. Funny he did not mention he was working on his biggest weakness - defense.
