I have always been reluctant to accept the argument that a team “lost the 2nd half” or lost a particular qtr, when that same team wins the game, which is the only thing that matters. How often does UConn “lose” the 4th qtr, when they are up 30 and empty their bench? I also believe that “fatigue” was not a factor for the Huskies, who are incredibly well conditioned athletes.Forget the KK comment. My point is that they lost the 2nd half, maybe partially due to fatigue. Don't think 38 minutes for Azzi and Sarah at this point in the season makes sense. IMHO.
UConn jumped out to a big lead which allowed Geno to experiment with various rotations and offensive options, against a good Louisville team. The outcome of the game itself was never in doubt. Had UConn shot a reasonable percentage from the arc, they beat Louisville by 30+.
Azzi, Ash and Sarah in particular have all proven they can knock down 3’s under pressure in big games. UConn simply didn’t shoot the ball well in their 1st game. I have no doubt that issue will be resolved quickly.
