The Farrelly Brothers! Come on, it's hard to top that.
Not really...we've got Horshack.
The Farrelly Brothers! Come on, it's hard to top that.
My classmate.I was going to suggest Janeane Garofalo, but his post has been deleted.
Yes, I haven’t talked about anything personalHave you read your posts in this thread?
what does the 49ers quarterback have to do with this?I was going to suggest Janeane Garofalo, but his post has been deleted.
Not here, I don't think. But there was 1947 to 1977. That was the 30 Years Duck.PC is ducking us.
Most conferences have similar policies. The ACC is 4 games in 8 days and not consecutive weeks instead of 3 in 7 for the Big East. SEC isn't allowing 3 games in a week at all which is even more strict. Pac 12 has it the easiest, they only schedule Thursday to Sunday so it seems like they're just slotting makeup games in early in the weekIs this just a Big East thing or are other conferences doing it too? It seems strange how they've handled some of this stuff.

"Not good next year and for a while" laughableLet’s be real about this:
- PC has a good road to a BE regular season title (not their fault with the rescheduling)
- they may or may not be able to take advantage of it (good chance not, but may)
- they will not be good next year and may not be for a while. Cooleys a good coach but their recruiting has fallen off a cliff with us back in the BE
- us being able to split with or sweep nova will have a much bigger impact on solidifying where we want to be in the Big East, this season and into next
Give us your stellar starting lineup / incoming recruits that will make that not the case. I’m all ears if I somehow missed something…"Not good next year and for a while" laughable
If UConn was in this situation would you say we need to forfeit games, probably not. It is what it isSo then why are they not forced to forfeit? This benefits PC. It should have the opposite effect. It's garbage
I will have to check it out. He might go somewhere but it won’t be SyracuseBe careful there is a thread on the cuse board on how they think Cooley is theirs for the taking. Lol
Ridiculous.
I mean you guys will always be our our poor redheaded step brother, sorry not sorry, but you have a very nice squad this year. And Cooley always has been a wonderful and eminently likable coach. Let’s bond ( just for the day) over laughing at syracuse fans delusion together.
How can you be sure they will not be good next year? They were not supposed to be good this year. But 5 transfers later and a few guys back from last year and all of the sudden they’re legit. You never know how well Coach will do in the transfer portal again next year. It works for some schools. Ask Baylor, Texas and Providence.Let’s be real about this:

Speaking of, didn’t you originally accuse UConn of ducking PC?LOL, coming from this board, that's priceless. If message boards are good for one thing, it's irony.
It’s hard for me seeing Cooley leave the Northeast, however if Maryland wants him my guess is he takes the job.I will have to check it out. He might go somewhere but it won’t be Syracuse
We know, we know, just like this year, the conference title will be determined on paper, before the season starts, by experts just like you.Give us your stellar starting lineup / incoming recruits that will make that not the case. I’m all ears if I somehow missed something…
He's making 3.4 million. That's good money. I can't imagine Syracuse giving anyone substantially more than JB makes. It’s hard for me seeing Cooley leave the Northeast, however if Maryland wants him my guess is he takes the job.
So, you’re saying you don’t expect to have anybody worth mentioning? We know, we know, just like this year, the conference title will be determined on paper, before the season starts, by experts just like you.
Now those of us that have been around more than a few years always wait until we see what young men actually put on the uniform and lace up the sneakers. Don't let that get in the way of you being real though.
The transfer portal has changed everything. You can decide next year right now, I will wait. I'm relieved we outperformed your expectations however. So, you’re saying you don’t expect to have anybody worth mentioning?
I’ll give you guys props for way outperforming this year, and even though I don’t think you guys are actually built to win anything when it matters, you’ve definitely won games I didn’t think you would so far this year—and may continue to prove me wrong this year.
HOWEVA, you will not compete in a major basketball conference year in, year out without recruiting at a significantly better clip than it looks like you guys are going to with us back in the conference (as your own board pointed out last year). If your plan for BE dominance is to significantly outperform the players you have on paper every year…um, good luck with that. You guys would be the first. Right now, it’s looking like your recruiting is definitely behind nova, us, Xavier and creighton. With Shaka, gotta think you guys will be behind Marquette too. Then, maybe your next, depending on who butler is able to bring in.
Again, if you have anything to refute that, I’m all ears.
Since the postponement was not the team’s fault, and since the rescheduling problem was not the team’s fault, I don’t see the logic, or justice, in punishing the team.So then why are they not forced to forfeit? This benefits PC. It should have the opposite effect. It's garbage
Huh, how did you duck us? We played, you lost. To be fair to you, the loss was in a place we normally beat you, but still.Speaking of, didn’t you originally accuse UConn of ducking PC?
Could it happen? Sure. I wouldn’t bet on it though. Providence isn’t even in the same conversation as Baylor or Texas in terms of a destination for players, high school recruits or transfers. Which highly coveted transfers did Providence get? They happen to be way outperforming with the talent they have, but banking on an under-talented team outperforming is foolish. And the Nate Watsons and AJ Reeveses are the product of a recruiting era that existed under a different Big East landscape for PC.How can you be sure they will not be good next year? They were not supposed to be good this year. But 5 transfers later and a few guys back from last year and all of the sudden they’re legit. Providence fans made comments about how we are ducking games when we went on pause on both the mens and womens side and I saw them even claim that UConn was ducking them when it was reported that the game would probably not be made up
That is what you are basing it on. If you look up when the new BE started PC has finished in the top half of the conference. Last yr and I forget the other yr they didn't. It doesn't matter if Cooley has Dunn on the team or Kyron Cartwright (200ish recruit who led us to the BE championship and almost beat Nova in OT) that team was full of 3* players. In the end Cooley's gets the best of his players. As far as a stellar lineup, it's not about the flash for me as long as they win.Give us your stellar starting lineup / incoming recruits that will make that not the case. I’m all ears if I somehow missed something…
This is my point. You guys are longing for glory days of being able to once in a while pull off a surprise BE title. We’re not shooting for the same things. We’re chasing what Nova has been doing. If Hurley duplicated the best three year stretch Cooley has had over the next three years, he would be on the hot seat and the fan base would be up in arms. The expectations our fanbase has for our program can’t be achieved with stacking three stars. That is what you are basing it on. They are rated first by Kenpom in the country in luck factor, and it is by a wide marginYou are something else, you know that? It sucks if we don't get a rematch, but they are a VERY good team who (if they do it) deserve to win the BigEast. Do you like our Auburn win or do you want to say that we caught them "undermanned"?
Get a grip, dude. Your schtick is tired.
Yeah, except the transfer portal is a similar competition to that for HS recruits. What is giving you any indication that you will be able to compete for the most coveted transfers? The transfer portal has changed everything. You can decide next year right now, I will wait. I'm relieved we outperformed your expectations however.
Yeah, unclear statement on my part.Huh, how did you duck us? We played, you lost. To be fair to you, the loss was in a place we normally beat you, but still.
