Captain Scott’s in New London, but the only way it’s not crowded on a Saturday afternoon in June is if it’s pouring rain.
the Seven Seas in Milford makes a pretty mean lobster roll and while it is a sit down restaurant you can order them to go......really nice town green to eat them just a minutes' walk away to relax and eat them too......Lobster Hut in Milford. Basically a food truck with picnic tables. Really good.
Lobster Shack in East Haven. They have sit down service. Decent view of the Sound.
Lobster Landing in Clinton.
I’m not a fan of Shanks (next door to Lobster Landing). Last time I was there, the lobster was overcooked and dry. We got there right when they opened. Probably leftovers from the previous day.
Abbott’s in Noank has great lobster but I think their “roll” is actually a hamburger bun.
in my local parlance, a "sit-down place" is where you get served by someone at a table. i.e. a restaurant. So I'm looking for a food truck or counter-serve type establishment. And what the hell is a non-sit down place? Does he want to eat the lobster roll while standing next to his car?
Assuming you will be heading I95 south there is Flanders Fish Market in East Lyme. The dining area may be crowded but you can order take out at the market side. Could hit all 4 of your wants. That place in Pawcatuck is on the way to a I95 connection.I have to drop my niece off in Westerley, RI next weekend and I'm looking for a little "reward" on the drive back home on 95. I'm looking for:
1. A really good CT-style Lobster roll.
2. At a non-sit down place
3. That won't be prohibitively crowded on a late Saturday afternoon
4. That is a relatively easy on-and-off of I95.
Thank you in advance.
I bet Mickey's in East Hartford does a pretty good one. I like their fish sandwich. Is there anywhere in the Hartford country to get a good one?
