I think he'll be like a poor man's Tony Pulis.

Hello 4-4-2 empty bucket.
Yeah but Pulis has kept West Brom up and at this point that's all I'm looking for right now.

So, 9 games in and Liverpool still top 4(2nd as of this post). While Henderson, Lallana and Coutinho have taken it up a notch, I still think we haven't heard the last of Sturridge and Can and Wijnaldum are the next 2 to move their game up another level. I wonder if Ings, Origi and Sakho make it back into the team.

Liverpool's next 7 games:

@ Crystal Palace
Watford
@Southampton
Sunderland
@Bournemouth
West Ham
@Middlesbrough

They need to make hay here and stay at the top of the table.

That better be at least 17 points there. If they can go 5 wins and 2 draws, they can actually put some distance between themselves and others. With Klopp, intensity against the middlings shouldn't be a problem. @ Palace and West Ham will be the two toughest games.

Big melt down. I, like the team, became complacent at 2-0 and 3-1. Of the top 5 teams, Liverpool has given up 3 more goals than the next highest team (18 vs 15). They've given up 7 more than leader Chelsea (18 vs 11). If they do something in January it should be defense first.

Joel Matip is the heart of the defense. Look at goals against when he is in versus out. He makes all the difference in the world. I am concerned that Karius is not the answer and Mignolet is not any better.

According to my on screen TV guide, Liverpool is the one game not being shown today. Replaced by the Goal Zone wraparound. Is anyone seeing the same thing at non-Cox cable systems?

Santa brought me a Liverpool - Coutinho kit for Christmas. Worn proudly during yesterday's waxing of Stoke.

The City game made me think they might really be this good.

It was a different type of win. So was Everton. The attacking football is awesome but learning how to get 3 points no matter is what invaluable. That is the difference between this team and the 13-14 team with Suarez, Sturridge et al scoring goals all over the place. That team could not win or grind out games. It was full ahead all the time.

I caught the last 10 minutes right before Liverpool scored. What is going on at Anfield? That's 3 losses in a row and only 1 win in their last 8 matches (and that was against Plymouth Argyle). Next up is Chelsea on Tuesday.

NBC sports has me spoiled. I want to watch an EPL match. It's on a national broadcast network or streamed for free. FS1 FA cup coverage... not so much.

I'm watching the Senegal game now hoping they lose so Liverpool can get Mane back.

And Senegal loses on a missed PK by Mane. Tough break.

At this point, I don't care if they back in to the Top 4. Just get there.
