Francisco Lindor just passed Derek Jeter on the all time HR list for SS.

Lindor did it in just 1,433 games while it took Jeter almost twice as long in 2,744 games.

He is now 4th on the all time list behind Cal Ripken Jr. (431), Miguel Tejada (307), and Hanley Ramirez (271). At 31 years old, Lindor would need approximately 6 more seasons (barring injury) to surpass Ripken.

5. Musial - spent 75% of his career in RF

After the age of 28, Murray topped 30 HRs twice (30 and 31), 100 RBI twice (100 and 124) and never in his entire career had more than 180 hits in a season. The poster boy for average output and longevity.

To me, what has always separated Jeter from many other great shortstops was his playoff performance. He played practically an entire season (158 games) of playoff games and hit .308 with 20 home runs. So against the best teams with the best pitchers in the biggest games of the year, he played at the same high level.

I just brought up 2000, oh we can’t talk about that I don’t blame you, it’s gotta sting still. Jeter’s .409 World Series BA doesn’t count because it’s a team accomplishment right. The Mets had the better team that year but but but team accomplishment.
