Less time on the boneyard in the future

Off topic but sorta on topic - A friend of mine from high school was a Lakers fan, a Cubs fan, a Broncos fan, a Syracuse basketball fan, and a Miami Hurricanes football fan.

I dare you to find a weirder combo of sports fandom example…

Yeah you’re right. Now that I have spent time rooting for UConn I just can’t go back on my decision to start rooting for them. It may not have been the best way to be a fan initially, but I need to stick with it now. Thanks for the reply.
You don't "need to" but why would you leave now that you're a part of the boneyard family?

The dislike option is there.

The bucknuts message boards are a cesspit to rival any other college football board out there, and definitely those north of the mason dixon line. Judging by the time you've probably spent between there and on the boneyard you absolutely belong on the funny farm, and thus 100% fit in here.

Still like the huskies but I can’t justify rooting for two schools as my top teams.
If on occasion you were to hop on the Cincinnati board and give @kobe a job or two we'll call it even.

I watched Scotty Middleton early in the season and he looked like an absolute star in the making. What happened?

Just wanted to let you guys know that I’m probably not going to be liking as many messages in the future. I know this sounds like something bad is going on, but it’s not that. Basically, I have been an Ohio state football fan for a while now and kind of felt bad that I chose two different schools. I have connections to Ohio State, but can’t say the same thing about UConn. I just hopped on the bandwagon this past year. All of this is to say that I am going to be more of an Ohio State basketball fan so I won’t be in the forum as much. I am still going to root for the huskies, but they’re not going to be my team. Thank you guys for welcoming me on the board, and I’ll be stopping by every once in a while when a recruit commits, for example.

Just to clarify my previous post, I am not judging anyone over how they decide who to root for. It's your own business and nothing to me. I just find it interesting how different my experience is from some other people. Sure I have over the years have adopted some secondary rooting interests, but they don't effect me like how I live and die with my core groups' success or failure.

JMO but you're welcome here. I think it does make more sense to root for OSU in both sports first if that's the school you're rooting for in football. But that doesn't mean UConn can't be a school you follow and appreciate on the side.

Speaking of Laettner I took my grandsons to the BB Hall of Fame this afternoon and they had an entire freaking display of that "shot." Who needs his mug stinking up that Hall of Fame. They did, however, have a nice interactive question/answer display with Jim Calhoun.

Some of the things which were weird but unforgettable were Wilt Chamberlain's shoe and Kevin Durant's hand palm size which you could conceptionalize when you put your own hand into his palm print. Enormous.

I moved to Tennessee 5 years ago and this year i finally decided that I’m going to start rooting for UT football. But now, after this post, I’m going to have to strongly reconsider that decision.
My son lives in Knoxville and says the UT hoop fans admit they are no match for us and greatly respect our program.

I think that’s what I’m going to do. I really appreciate this comminity!

Sayonara Amigo. I’ll post more to make up for your absence. You’re welcome everyone.

@bjc42, I suggest you do a dive into youtube and watch our previous Final Fours to increase your appreciation of our beloved Huskies. Watch the Stanley Robinson dunk compilation. That is a good starter set. You will get a better idea of why we are crazy about our team and its history. Watch Jim Calhouns "not a dime back" press conference. Search for Dan Hurley saying "you better get us now because we're coming" presser. I promise that you will never stray again!

I really appreciate this post. I watched part of the video in the ”need to kill an hour” thread and the Hurley conference came up and that made me want to stay. Why leave the best program in all of basketball?
