2027 Recruiting: Lauren Hassell

It just came to my attention that Lauren Hassell no longer follows UConn on Instagram. She only follows Vanderbilt. I find this a little concerning because she has always come across to me as a big UConn fan and more likely than not to commit to UConn. But to unfollow UConn just seems so deliberate.

This actually doesn't surprise me but I don't want to speculate publicly about the possible reasons why.

She signed with an NIL agency in early September and shortly afterwards her social media accounts (Instagram and Twitter) unfollowed all her finalists. In late September her account re-followed Vanderbilt (her local school). Her agency likely monitors or even controls her social media now, this has become pretty common sadly.

She also took an unofficial visit to North Carolina in October.

Thats too bad, she seemed like a strong UConn lean taking multiple visits to Uconn on her own dime over the past couple of years.

Having First Night this year would’ve told us a lot as she attended the past two.

I’m wondering if maybe there was some sort of glitch or maybe she did see this forum lol. Because now she’s following UConn, UNC in addition to Vanderbilt

I read somewhere recently that she is a silent commit to UConn, no idea if that is true or not, just passing on information.
Would love to see Lauren sign with the Huskies!
