Make no mistake McCray was a big part of what SC did and was an excellent recruiter but Boyer and Chimel are the engines of the train and Dawn is the conductor. Both Chimel and Boyer are a big reason why we are so successful. They are both really hands on with the players and have a big hand in the offense we run.
According to Vandy Board it was Balcomb that won it for SC.

Teams that had Jolette law as a coach (HC/Asst) never won a championship.
Let's hope SCAR can continue the tradition.

Mikayla Vaughn (ND commit) from Philly area and Honesty Scott-Grayson from NJ play on that same team. I'm not sure what the living arrangements were and it does not appear to be a boarding school.
Both have family/friends in the area. Paul VI is not a boarding school.

... Stringer fiddled with the dials, hooked up a coat hanger, and fiddled around some more until, loud and clear, the call sign for the Des Moines station came through. With her parents' blessing, Jolette Law went on to a stellar career at Iowa.

Back in the day, Hawkeyes' sports had primary coverage from two 50,000 watt (max legal limit) radio stations, WHO and WMT. They were reinforced by a couple dozen smaller, local stations, like the one where I worked. At night especially WHO would come banging in from Des Moines, giving the Hawkeyes coverage from the Rockies to the Atlantic. They (WHO) ran their 50kw 24/7, while WMT had to reduce power at night. These two stations were the cultural glue that held the fanbase together. Today, both stations have lapsed into political talk and similar rubbish. They do still carry the Hawkeyes, but Learfield Sports does all the actual production.
