tweet is still up, it's a snippet from the Bill Simmons pod, Ryen Russillo says that Kyle Neptune wasn't talking up Cam Whitmore to scouts/teams during the draft process. Says the "Villanova family" wasn't happy about it.What did the tweet say?
if this is true this is a bad look for Neptune
Plan on waiting before coming to a conclusion. Would be incredibly stupid if a coach did not recognize the importance of backing a player at Cam’s level to get a good draft pick.I don't believe it! I also realize nobody cares what I don't believe.
Wait. What!? You just suggested we avoid jumping to conclusions… then you jumped to a conclusion about Cam’s agent.Plan on waiting before coming to a conclusion. Would be incredibly stupid if a coach did not recognize the importance of backing a player at Cam’s level to get a good draft pick.
But I’ve witnessed a lot of petty behavior from otherwise intelligent people who sabotage themselves out of spite.
Any chance the agent representing Cam is throwing out innuendos to dispel what has been said previously about Cam to improve his image?

No, he just floated the idea. Thanks for clarifying. Yeah. I’m aware of the rumors. But thanks for sharing. He didn’t conclude anything about his agent. He floated a possibility. There were plenty of rumors about Whitmore not exactly putting his best foot forward in meetings with teams.
which is why it got an OT tag, it shouldn't be that hard for you to keep it moving. Not a UConn problem

If honesty is a bad look, I think he’ll take it.
If you want to screw things for your players who actually deserve a good recommendation, get a reputation with NBA types for not being an honest shooter.
Some of you are nuts.
It was a predetermined award before the season started.Karaban deserved Freshman of the year, not Cam whoever. The same guy who didn’t play in any meaningful minutes, all year long. That vote was a fraud.
He did his own reputation no favors by being a sub-par coach.Yes. Possibly Kyle Neptune cares more about his own reputation than Cam Whitmore's.
Just maybe Neptune was telling the truth. If so, Good for him.Plan on waiting before coming to a conclusion. Would be incredibly stupid if a coach did not recognize the importance of backing a player at Cam’s level to get a good draft pick.

You need to be diplomatic about it. I tend to think Neptune probably was diplomatic but his lack of effusive praise was taken as negativity. He probably said things like, “He needs to mature some, so you need to keep close tabs on him until he grows up a little bit, but he’s a great talent.”What if he were telling the truth? Just askin'... Probably better to just say nothing...? Not sure about that either...tough choice that is...
The hypothetical is a plausible possibility but not a conclusion. I wasn’t aware I offered a declarative.Wait. What!? You just suggested we avoid jumping to conclusions… then you jumped to a conclusion about Cam’s agent.
