My question is how can she possibly stay at Baylor after this $h**show?
I think she’s pretty much driving down a one way road at this point.
If you’re the king (or the queen) does it really matter if you’ve pissed people off?

If Lebron pissed off Lakers management would anyone say there’s no way he could come back? He can do just fine whether they like him or not and they’ll suck it up bc of how valuable he is.

that said I do agree it is unlikely she stays at this point.

Please stay away from topics that can turn this into a political thread

What's actually mind blowing is Louisiana Tech could have kept her if they wanted.

I'm being sarcastic. Unless she doesn't want to be confronted by the media at the basketball facility. We will see see soon if this is all legit or pony show
No matter what happens or how it comes down if she leaves it will be legit and most defiantly a pony show. Hope Kim throws her jacket and blames leaving on all the refs who done her wrong.

hard to compare the 2 coaches in both basketball teams especially when you look at Scott Drew who is such a nice humble man and no drama surrounds him.

I can’t get over the fact that she won only one championship with Brittney Greiner.
Maybe work with a therapist for a while? I hope it all works out for you.

She underutilized a generational talent.
Like if Alcindor won only one.
I think you get it... but I’ve been wrong before

Underutilized? How many minutes do you feel Britney should’ve gotten?

I gave you more credit.
MPG means diddley.
you know it and I know it.
Mulkey should have been able to develop a scheme that resulted in surely more than ONE championship with her.
Didn’t.
Failed.
EOS.

Me thinks you and how you present your views may not last long on this forum...A friendly piece of advice is pretend you are at a cocktail party at someone’s house so when you disagree, do so politely.

I was always under the impression that the way Griner was used at Baylor actually gave Baylor the reputation of being where a big girl would want to go. I think it potentially helped Kim get Brown, Cox and Smith for example, while Dawn having success with Asia might have given her an edge with Boston. Uconn had a reputation for producing great guards etc. Some programs and coaches once they have great success with a size or type of player can milk that quite a bit recruiting similar players in the future.

Because of the different levels/sources of his contracted money, there may be a baseline for his 'state compensation' that is less than his total. Whatever it is, it will be a very good retirement pension.
I guess we can see what Calhoun gets for a pension just for a point of reference. There’s gotta be some state site with that info. Imagine him getting even 40% of what his salary was for a pension

Bravo!

Found this about Calhoun and it mentions geno

Speaking from his new home in Florida, Hartley said the state retirement system does not include many of the highest paid employees in higher education because they are often in a separate pension system operated by the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund, known as TIAA-CREF.
"Those would be your high-salaried people, including Calhoun and Geno," Hartley said, referring to men's basketball coach Jim Calhoun and women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma. "They belong to TIAA-CREF."

So, what is it that you believe that Mulkey failed to do, exactly?

I'm tired of Government employees getting taxpayer funded retirement pensions of over $100,000.00 a year. I believe that they should have to pay into their retirement with a little portion paid by the taxpayer. Here in Vegas a Caption that retires from the fire department makes over $250,000 a year and has medical and dental health coverage on top of that, all paid for by the taxpayer. A politician here in Nevada is limited to 12 years max in a position, so if they start out as a City councilman/woman after twelve years they run for Mayor or County commissioner. After that they run for either State Assembly or Senate, serve 12 years in one then go to the other. After spending 30+ years in government they retire and lived off the taxpayer the whole time they then get a 6 figure retirement package with the health benefits, also at taxpayer expense.

For sure Sarge, retirement packages vary from the unconsciously low to the absurdly high.
Mine falls right in the middle...After a 30-year career in the music world (with virtually no retirement to speak of) I went back to public education for a year or two, wound up an enjoyable decade and was the beneficiary of a fair NYC retirement.

But as you know, retirement packages (at least for the average folk) are gong the way of the dinosaur and sooner than later will be a vestige of the 20th century...

I wouldn't want to be starting out now.

So any thoughts on whether some of the Baylor players follow Kim to LSU?
