Kibitzer Memorial Badass Award

Allie tying a record was nice.
It's tough though because Shade and K9 were all over and often were the ones making the extra pass to Ziebell for the 3. Those two's defense, along with their rebounding, got UConn like an extra 15 possessions.

Allie was hot, but I have to go with Ash, 36 minutes, 6 boards, 6 assists, 9 steals, and only 1 TO, to me that's the definition of a BadAss. She played the most minutes, was a terror on defense, 1st in steals, 2nd in boards and assists and 3rd in scoring.

Allie all the way. 10 three pointers and 34 total points. I also have to mention Ashlynn with 12 points. 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 steals. Plus over 30 minutes in the game and covering the floor like a RUG. GO ALLIE AND ASH!!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!

Defensively, Kayleigh and Ashlyn were great last night. I think K9 is starting to fit in, and Ash was her usual hard-nosed self.

I always think of the original post about the 'badass' award and what it was supposed to celebrate - specifically not the POG, who at that time was being awarded by the announcers at the end of the game, but the player that added the bad in badass for the game. I think Allie/Sarah were clearly in contention for POG - Sarah because she was her usual spectacular self when all around her bricks were falling, and Allie for her stellar 11-15 career high and record tying performance. But ...

Ash and Kayleigh were clearly bringing the bad with their personal bests in steals, rebounds, and assists - combined they had 14 rebounds (4 off), 14 assists, and 12 steals while committing a single TO each. And that doesn't include the defensive pressure they applied that created 34 total TO, and only 22 points in the final 30 minutes after Xavier scored 17 points in the first 10, starting hot shoot 47% in the first Q. I don't much hold with +/- in individual games because in blow out wins it usually correlates to minutes played and Ash with 36 minutes is the leader in this game with a +52, but the second place finisher is Kayleigh with +44 with the 5th most minutes coming off the bench.

If I remember correctly The Kibitzer award was for not the highest scorer, but for the player that did all of the other things like defense, rebounds, steals etc. etc. To me that would be either Ash or K9.

Kayleigh. When she dives for the ball in a scrum, there's no point arguing. Of course, Ash did rip the ball away from Musketeers 8 times. Hmmmm.
K9 was ferocious
