I think Kia best chance is the WBCA AA team because coaches value defense more than lazy writers who will only look at offensive numbers. UCONN can only nominate 3 players for this team. There is also the aspect of the UCONN streak of having placed 3 players on this AA squad for it seems like forever now really since 2013.
Kia also has two possible award related path to AA. If she wins the Liberman she should be on the team. Liberman award is not likely for kia but still a posibility. If Kia wins the National DPOY award she will also be likely be on the WBCA AA team. Debbie Antonelli was giving Kia and Gabby mad props for being candidates for DPOY during the broadcast last night. Antonelli should know she sits on the selection committee for that award.
Not to doubt your accuracy Coco, but are you absolutely certain that no NDPOY has ever been left off the WBCA 1st team?Yes!
WBCA DPOY has never been excluded from WBCA AA team.
Kia on Huskies Wall of Honor!
As predicted by me.

Thanks for the info. If Kia keeps that trend up, I suspect a big thank you will be in order for Geno’s golfing buddy at USF, who’s heading up the WBCA AA committee.Positive and also previously posted.

There is a better 3 point shooter on the team.
There is a better athlete on the team.
There is a better ball handler on the team.
There are better post players on the team.
But nobody does everything as well as Kia does.
Go Kia!
JMHO

YEA!!!! I was really hoping that Kia would be able to join The Huskies of Honor.
Now hopefully she will.
Gabby last year.... Kia this year. Talk about not being able to defend on the
perimeter next year. Gabby and Kia gave the Huskies 2 perimeter defenders that impacted every game.
Yes, yes, I've quoted you, Coco, even proclaimed that I "had it in writing" from you that if Kia earned DPOY accolades she would be named to the WBCA All-America team. Wait a sec, are we congratulating you or Kia? Okay, congrats to both of you. So Kia gets the UConn Wall of Honor and you, for your prescience, earn a spot of the UConn Boneyard Wall of Honor.Yes!

Actually there has been a team UCONN with 3 DPOY on the same team.OK, so here’s a question for all you b-ball historians, to which I don’t know the answer.
Has there ever been another team with 2 NDPOY’s playing together at the same time?

Scoop , I like your optimism , but I don't know. I just don't see the size and feet you need in one player. Crystal has good feet but not the size and strength. Megan has the size and feet but not the desire at the moment. And no one else comes close for a great perimeter defender. At least not from my vantage point.Maybe not as well......hopefully someone will step up. Someone will fill there shoes next year. To what degree?, that remains to be seen.
I knew I could count on you for the answer. But here’s a revision to my earlier question. Has there ever been another team with two different players who both received the NDPOY award while they were still playing together?Actually there has been a team UCONN with 3 DPOY on the same team.
Moriah, Gabby, & Kiah.
There a couple times were there were two
Stefanie Dolson & Moriah
Gabby & Kia
If not for the presence of some 6'7" player from Texas who hogged this award three years in a row Kelly Faris would have been part of another two and 3 person UCONN team.

If by another team you mean besides UCONN, the answer is no. Keep in mind that this WBCA award has only been around since 2007.I knew I could count on you for the answer.
