I don’t blame UConn. The town has fought UConn for decades. I loved my time there, but I think lack of private development around campus is holding it back at this point.

Took my niece for a tour of UConn. Told her the chicken coops on Horsebarn Hill Road were the freshmen dorms, she ended up going to BU.
 
No one is trashing anyone. I would be excited to visit each exceptional university in the Big 12 community and explore their campuses. UConn and Storrs would be a fine addition to that community. Storrs is what it is, and for me, it was the perfect setting for an 18 year old to study and have fun, mostly not in that order. In reality, I think it is a much better atmosphere than most of the big east campuses. Not all, but most.

They would be going to east hartford so there’s the Mark Twain house! Noah Webster down the road! Would be funny seeing a gaggle of horned frogs flocking to those locations.
And that’s if they get past the Cabellas outside the Rent!

In all seriousness the greatness of CT is in its location. Beaches, mountains, major cities are all an easy day trip. People coming in would likely do sightseeing in Boston, NYC, Vermont, CT shore, even Maine is doable.
I think people still do Casinos.
2 hour drive for mid westerners is nothing.

The Stadium is set to get about $350m in updates, including a new practice facility. It is currently a dump. I haven't been in it since 1994 and it wasn't great then.

It's very easy to appreciate the scenery around the UConn Campus and I think new visitors will fall in love with the area

Yes the ACC conference has the GOR and yes they have a second contract that gives all their members home games to ESPN for broadcasting.

It’s this leasing agreement that the ACC is contractually obligated for the time period equal to the GOR to provide content to ESPN.

If FSU leaves, the ACC must come up with content to provide to ESPN that ESPN agrees replaces what FSU would provide if they remained.

It’s unlikely the ACC can grab a different school that would accomplish this so the ACC will sue FSU to retain all revenues of FSU’s home games as agreed upon by the GOR contract.

The conference that FSU goes to would have to agree to take FSU under these circumstances. How likely is the ACC GOR going to win and how likely any conference is going to take a chance on accepting FSU under these circumstances is speculative.

I've been thinking each time I pass by the I-84 signs that they need to be upgraded/bigger. With people going by at 70+ mph, they can't even be read. Come on DOT - get your game on!!!

If Attorney Brooke Goff can have three consecutive closely spaced billboards along our highways, then surely we can do the same for UConn? One big sign for men's basketball, another for women's basketball, then another sign for the other sports.

Especially when the signs keep getting loaded with more and more info as teams keep winning NCs.
 
I think the #1 thing they should put on and/or near UConn campus is a nice hotel. They used to have the Nathan Hale Inn but that didn't last long.
Prospective students, families and recruits would get a better experience visiting by staying on campus vs Manchester or surrounding towns

Would be great if they could build a hotel in student Union

The problem with your theory is that until some sort of separation agreement is reached, even if FSU leaves the ACC, the ACC has broadcast rights to FSU games.

I'm pretty sure that the ACC cannot just release FSU (for some monetary consideration), replace them with whoever (Tulane?, UConn if available, etc.) and then tell ESPN the product the ACC is delivering is substantially equal to the product that was contracted.

They can tell ESPN anything and after the lawyers finish laughing at them get notified they are going to be sued.

Maybe, but there are some great attractions nearby. Basketball Hall of Fame, Boston, NYC, fall colors in Berkshires/VT/NH, Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun, Mystic Seaport, Old Sturbridge Village, Dinosaur State park,...
