Key tweets, and it's all gone to Hell.

i once estimated UConn basketball only worth to the B!G is easily in the $20,000,000 annual range . A little less in the SEC and 50-60% of that in the B!2 or ACC
Football is a non starter for all of them . it seems a no brainer for any conference to add UConn in all sports except football. . Is it Uconn reluctance to leave football to find its own way the real issue in CR.? If true should we rethink that position?

Your made-up financial evaluation followed by your complete dismissal of a football program that is coming off of a 9-win season (including bowl game win, and 2 bowls in the last 3 years) is probably the only thing that needs a re-think here...

Nonsense, everybody else loves basketball, it's football that's holding us back from the glory.

Very nice. Just don’t know what makes this a key tweet in terms of realignment
That tweet has nothing to do with CR. It was about social media, entertainment, eyeballs, national brand, best program ever, value. ;)

It's not unusual for the people running the show to miss the boat. Football drives the bus but there are so few bus drivers. Programs like UCLA, Indiana, Kentucky, etc in the club with historical basketball programs. They need to think bigger and better, not just collect money from the value of the Michigans and Alabamas. It's mind-boggling that they can't figure it out.

Wrong. Football is essential to a P4 future. Fortunately, our football team had a very good season last year and is trending in the right direction. With women's hoops, men's hoops, hockey, football, and baseball all trending up, we are in a strong position for the next round of realignment.

The attached article on Cal football has some interesting comments on the ACC:

"a fear that Cal, already left behind in the last round of realignment before being thrown a lift raft by the ill-fitting Atlantic Coast Conference, is once again drifting toward irrelevance."

"With conference consolidation and the dismantling of the ACC probably in the not-so-distant future, now is not the time to become irrelevant."

The unraveling of Cal: Star exodus, a donor ultimatum and a football program running out of runway

Still one of those results of conference realignment that still doesn't feel real. California is in the ACC, go figure. Can't do anything but laugh.

Gosh, what a shame.

Oh, oh. Don't like the sound of that.

On the other hand, Katz has the narrative wrong. WV was always the first choice, and Louisville tried to nudge them out.

That has me feeling better.
Andy Katz doesn’t have a clue. He has to look at the whole package like the ACC’s board will do, and with that in mind, Louisville is the ACC’s version of Seton Hall, and what does Cal bring to the table?

USF and Tulane seem like the most likely candidates to fill future ACC vacancies. While much will depend on which schools remain in the conference, I’m skeptical that Memphis will receive an invite.

At least two of Cal, Stanford, Duke, or Wake Forest are likely to stick around, and it’s hard to imagine any of them supporting the addition of Memphis.

The only scenario where I could see them being persuaded is if it helps retain a member like Louisville.

So inviting Memphis would persuade Louisville to decline an offer from which conference?

The Big 12.

Yormark and company would likely want them, and an ACC that's losing members would definitely prefer they stay.

Edited to add: Not "would" persuade. Conceivably "could" persuade.
