I think the SNY ship has sailed. The fact that there has been nothing said by Benedict, Aresco or ESPN about it seems that all parties have moved on.
If there are/were actual conversations going on it wouldn’t take this long since there aren’t that many games involved. Plus, as you said, no reason for ESPN to give up any content.
