Truth is, a lot happened w Ko. Some really good, some really bad. In the end, it probably doesn’t help either side to alienate this dude. I say it’s time to make up.

As a man of integrity, a very good UCONN guard on some great UCONN teams, as an ambassador for our progam during his 13 year NBA career, as a top recruiter, as an assistant coach and head coach contributing to multiple UCONN national championships K.O has earned his shot.

We should be proud of this man. A Husky leading an NBA franchise as head coach is something to be celebrated by UCONN nation. He is a Husky for life and a leader of men. Congratulations Kevin! You have overcome and endured. It's time for a season of harvest.✊!

And what was wrong with Mr. Kevin Ollie's life that needed to get turned around? Where did this manufactured narrative come from.

Did you forget that he won his case against our beloved University? How did that happen? This man has been nothing short of honorable and has continued to be supportive of UCONN.

Sorry I don didn’t follow this Ollie story in depth. What did he do with Calhoun and what did he do behind the scenes to rub people the wrong way? I know the last few years with him we couldn’t get any good players. And there was something with recruiting and an assistant coach (Glenn miller)? Thanks for rehashing this for me

Why all the hate against Mr. Kevin Ollie! Have you done more for UCONN than him?

This dude literally had to overcome his employer and his own staff sabotaging him the last few years of his tenure and never said anything negative about the University. They breach his contract and hire our beloved Hurley while openly screwing him out of his guaranteed contract money. Did you forget that he won his case through Arbitration? But you have no smoke for anyone else involved in this fiasco? Just Kevin Ollie who was a prized recruit, great UCONN guard, 13 year NBA veteran and ambassador for the UCONN program, great recruiter for UCONN, contributed to multiple National championships and has continued is career coaching young men.

What have you done for the UCONN program? Does it exceed Kevin Ollie's contributions? What has this man of integrity and great Husky ever done to you to warrant all of this hate?
 
Here's what matters to me, and why I think KO should be coaching - he kept together a bunch of guys who had nothing to play for other than pride. And the next year he won an NC with those guys. I don't care whose recruits they were.

I still say the divorce really screwed with his head and priorities.

It's not that complicated. K.O had folks on his own staff sabotage him the last few years and a University that openly character assassinated him attempting to screw him out of his guaranteed contract without due process hiring our beloved Hurley in the interim. All our beloved University needed to do was honor the contract and move on. Kevin Ollie never said a negative thing about the University through this entire ordeal. Kevin won his arbitration case and has been successful post UCONN. They literally tried to destroy this man, this great UCONN HUSKY!
 
This is a sacrifice. This will not work out. Ollie coaching style is let shabazz go one on one. Look at fluidity with coach like Hurley on offense. He’s got his name back out there he knows it’s sacrifice. I wish best but realistic he’s holdover shit coach so when they don’t make playoffs owners can say shit Ollie was coach

Our beloved JC is not a God. K.O wanted to forge his own path as his own man. The University and a few folks on his own staff sabotaged his last few years and rfhis included JC hold overs. Surre, errors were made.

He won his case against all odds just lime that 2014 title. That, my friend, doesn't deserve this level of hate. K.O. is one of the greatest UCONN HUSKIES period and continues to be a brand ambassador.

Kevin Ollie has conducted himself honorably and is now a head coach in the NBA, a UCONN HUSKY. That is something worth celebrating.

I always thought the National Championship was his undoing. He probably never would've been able to run the program the way it should be run long term without it but I think his head and priorities got screwed up after he won it all.

Not sure how accurate that is. Donny remains an employed Husky on a national sports network and Kevin Ollie has a win loss record of 127 -79 (62%) that included a national title and several NCAA tournament appearances. These guys remain ambassadors of the UCONN brand.

I would like to revise my prior post. I hate Kevin Ollie because he acted in the way nelsonmuntz would act if he was in same situation. Forget that racism stuff I mentioned.

Shabazz played in the NBA guess who coached him up?? Boatright turned out pretty good too just not an NBA body. But let’s name the one guy who underachieving right? How did Daniel do with NBA coaching after he left UConn? Hilarious nice attempt!

Good for KO, hope he’s successful. I like coaches who win National Championships here. I don’t like the ones who lose their focus so there is some due criticism but everyone deserves another chance!

And as a player played a significant role in why we’re able to be spoiled and arrogant.

Bazz and boat stayed in part to Ollie being the coach. He led some incredible moments that we as a fanbase will always owe him thanks for.

What he did afterwards was an embarrassment to himself more than anyone. We don’t need to lead this crusade against the man any longer.

We ended up in a more than fine position with a more than fine coach. Let the hate go
