Having former UConn players in the NBA shows potential recruits that there's a path to being a professional heading through UConn.

Are you suggesting that having a coach who was fired for violating NCAA and University policies and received a three-year quote show cause penalty from the NCAA for those violations, who then accused the school of racism, who smeared a beloved Hall of Fame coach and then ended up coaching in the NBA will somehow attract a student athletes to the University of Connecticut? Because why exactly?

I definitely want to hear more from the people who have been completely and totally wrong about how the Ollie affair would turn out for the entirety of the proceedings. Those are the people that need to be heard from.

And if you could mix in a few insults from the guy who spent the entire pre-season complaining that the transfer portal was a disaster for UConn and the roster was a mess that would be great too.

I actually think you are wrong here…..if calipari goes to the nba is that good for kentucky basketball? Ollie is not an ambassador for this university unless he does a complete 180

Yes many marriages end in divorce. Been through one at an early age myself. Manager called me in the office, he liked my work and I liked him. Sat me down and said "I understand you are going through a divorce", I told him I was.
His reply was "don't bring it to or let it interrupt your work". Ollie did just that.

Please list the players from OTE that Uconn is recruiting. It helps those of us following the program for over 5 decades still writing with a quill to understand. :cool:

Good for Kevin Ollie if he gets the job. Some people on this board act like he cheated on their daughter. Was he doing a horrible job here? Yes. But if you wanna make it your personality seeking out ways to disparage the guy you do you.

Nothing to do with Ollie, but this simply isn’t how most competent individuals manage their people today.

Most understand we simply cannot compartmentalize our work and personal lives. A good manager would understand that the divorce process is temporary, and giving an employee space and grace to deal with it is the right thing to do both as a manager and as a human being.

Thankfully, times have changed.

When my wife died a little over 2 years ago, most everyone was supportive. I was her caregiver and she had FTD. I overheard someone say, he acts like he's the only one who's ever lost someone and needs to stop feeling sorry for himself.

Umm yeah if you could umm not let your recent divorce effect your work performance that would be great, and umm now that you have more time on your hands I would like you to come in Saturday, oh and if you could come in Sunday that would be great.
 
I had a boss recently who would offer fake sympathy about a family loss or other life event and then shift completely to work. He was the ultimate company man who treated every employee there like a gear in the machine. I used to joke that someone could die in the aisle and he'd drag the body out of the way so a work cart could pass. Let's just say, I don't work there anymore. Thank God.

Ollie and Dave can both be responsible for mending fences….until that time he does not appear as an ambassador for this university
 
Some of this stuff is pretty harsh towards KO. He had a contract which was terminated with cause with many dollars at risk. KO contested the university’s claims. If any of us were in his shoes, we would have done the same thing. The parties had an opportunity to negotiate a settlement. The university decided to take a hard-line approach. KO won his money. Game over. No need for animosity. Let’s hug it out.
