Kenya Hunter Potential Replacement

@ the guys saying we need a bigs coach.

1) only an idiot would turn down Luke Murray if he is actually an option. He is well known as one of the most qualified assistants in d1 ball. He elevates our recruiting to new heights.

2) coaching bigs ain't rocket science. There are tons of skills involved obviously but A LOT of coaches can work with bigs. Our lack lack of development in the Ollie era had to do with the coaches not spending time with players on film, not making plans for off-season solo-work, and poor recruiting. They didn't motivate players to improve or support them when they wanted to.

Tom Moore is a more than capable bigs coach. Look up Hassan Martin.

Yeah, a guy you can point to on the staff like Kenya who has helped developed big name bigs is important. Selling point for recruits. But we can do fine without as far as developing bigs.

We need the best coach available. Great thing about a guy like Tom Moore on the staff is he is an absolute do-it-all coach. Guard. Wings. Bigs. Offense. Defense. Skill development-wise he is fantastic. The business side of running a program is what was tough for him at Quinnipiac.
Pretty funny there's people who believe there's a coach walking this planet that would've made any of our bigs over the last 5 years into good players. Talent matters over everything.

Our lack lack of development in the Ollie era had to do with the coaches not spending time with players on film, not making plans for off-season solo-work, and poor recruiting. They didn't motivate players to improve or support them when they wanted to. Not because we had no one who understood how to coach big men.

I'm a big Tom Moore fan, hope he's here for good.

Coaching bigs these days is easy. Just have them stay after practice and take 500 three's. As for the assitant who can recruit 5stars with national reach and deep roots with the staff, yeah you hire him if you can.

What a stupid article. Guy says “this is big boy basketball where assistants make more than $300k”. Uhh dude, the guy Hunter is replacing was making LESS than Hunter was at UConn.

I hate these P5 schools that are garbage at everything, but because the heavyweights like OSU, UM, MSU etc bring football money to the conference, they act like they earned their $40m paycheck instead of getting lucky. Fuch off

Didn’t Luke go to UConn his freshman year? Think he transferred to sacred heart or Fairfield

so many UConn connections.

Lobo has less coaching experience than KO did, unless you count coaching her daughter in AAU. It isn't gender bias to say she's not a qualified hire. I suspect that she might be the first to say so.

Agreed. And doesn't she have a pretty good TV gig? Why would she want to be out recruiting? And do we think she'd be effective at recruiting HS boys?

Have to assume it’s Webster with Freeman being the obvious second choice. UConn can double Webster’s salary and it’s a huge step up. I’d be thrilled. He has a connection with Tripp as well

Lead recruiter for a bunch of their players. Has coached under Amaker, Buzz Williams, and Mike Young. Recruiting ties to NC and VA.

Webster would be a solid pickup. Similar to a Kimani-level hire IMO. Has the geographic region we need to recruit locked up.

I know Penn St. was really good last year, but I would prefer an assistant with a few more years experience than KFree.

Webster would bring us some Oak Hill guys. Gimme Webster. Yup yup yup yup.

Fwiw looks like they didn't list lead.recruiters for 247 until recently. But this past year webster is listed for their top 2 recruits

Joe Bamisile #89
Darius Madox #108

Both from the DMV.

Also Chris Clarke from oak hill recently. Who was a solid top 75-ish player.

Jalen cone from NC was a 4* as well.
