Kenny Kallina's Top 36 Basketball Players

What are you complaining about? The Irish have three players better than any Husky except Stevens!

The fact that the highest ranked of those players is out for the season dulled by enthusiasm. And he misspelled Ogunbowale. But yes he was fairly generous to ND.

Really bizarre list. Of course, our 3 All-Americans are listed far too low.

Some strange inclusions: Freshmen Chennedy Carter and Evina Westbrook. What about Megatron??

Some ranked too high in my opinion: Cunningham, Hines-Allen, Holmes, Russell, Washington.

I don't doubt that Westbrook has the ability. To be on the list at some point. Let her play some games first.

She looks good, but that seems more like a sophomore ranking. Traditionally, lists like this exclude freshman, even freshmen like Candace, Maya, and Stewie. Neither Evans nor Chennedy seems to be in that class.

I know that. Todays her birthday. Maybe that's why she's on it.

Not to pile on poor Kenny... well... yeah I want to pile on.

Echo everything other fans said, both UCONN and non-UCONN. I'm not even going to go line by line because there is so much stupidity in that list that it would take paragraphS (yes multiple) to suss out any logic.

I would also echo a few people who said "I'd love to see a list by a more reputable person". I would say that there is more than enough knowledge on this board to make a list many times better than what Kenny came up with. To quote south park... "WHO killed Kenny"? Someone ought to at least kill his ability to publish stuff related to WCBB...!!

.-.
It's the only way he can get his Florida players on any list and slap a few club coaches he dislikes in the process ;)

Reading over this my personal top 10 players would be (not in any order):
Brooke McCarty G TX
Katie Lou Samuelson G/F UCONN
Gabby Williams SF UCONN
Shakayla Thomas SF FSU
Napheesa Collier PF UCONN
Kalani Brown C Baylor
Morgan William G MissSt.
Jordin Canada G UCLA
Azura Stevens C/F UCONN
Aja Wilson C/F SoCar

Kia Nurse would be somewhere on a list of the top 36 players in the country.
This man who shall remain nameless is obviously setting this up as stated above for a reaction to make him sound important but by printing this he comes off as mindless! I don't think any serious WBB fan would keep a straight face without laughing out loud when reading this. He is only hurting any positive reputation he had previously!

So, UConn, which came within a basket of playing for an undefeated NC season, has its entire team back, except for Natalie or more importantly, Saniya, which are replaced by Batouly, 4 great freshmen including the HS NPOY, and, oh yeah, HIS #3 BEST PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY! THIS IS NOT SUCH A BAD THING.

Moreover, let's humor him. Let's allow him to rank someone who wasn't even an all-American the last time she played a second of ball to now be ranked #3 in the country. If that actually is true, it's not impossible that the rest of the team slips down a bit (though not what Krazy Kenny says).

But, despite the fact that he clearly doesn't know a hole in the ground from where he views daylight, but meditate on Z being the #3 player in the country...

I think he called the thread starter a bum or something in a recent podcast. I guess it's some kind of online beef going on. Now we can get a chuckle at these rankings

I like your list a lot. This is what I meant by "there are people on this board alone with more WCBB knowledge who could come up with a better list..."

My only nit to pick is I'd not put William in the top 10. Honestly, Kelsey Mitchell, for all her defensive flaws, is a premier offensive player and IMHO she needs to be in the top 10. Not sure who the next 5 should be - hard to gauge some of the sophomores and their expected "leap", but Anigwe, Billings, Ogunbowale, Vivians, Russell, Nurse, Holmes, Nared, Greenwell, Ionescu, Hines-Allen, Cunningham, Brown (Lexie), Atkins, William as maybe my next 15 (not necessarily in that order but close to it).

It gets hard and is hair splitting when you start getting away from the uber-premier players - how do you compare a PG to a center?

Well, I count eight teams of the players on his list as opponents for UConn this season. So I guess we shall see how his selections fare on the court against the lowly Huskies! Looking forward to it!

BTW, last season Mitchell shot 37% against the Huskies. In that game, Collier shot 47%, Samuelson 37%, and Williams 60% (but in a low volume game for her).

EricLA- - -I left Kelsey Mitchell off my top 10 list because she is one dimensional! She only plays offense! Any of my top 10 are talented players on both ends of the court! Morgan William can play pest on defense as well as be a talent on offense.
I am not a big Aja Wilson but I must admit she is one of the top 10 players in the country!

This just shows what a great coach Geno is, being able to do what he did last year with no player even ranked in the top 20 of this list. I guess it also proves that UCONN doesn't win because of the talent they are able to recruit since the team doesn't have any outstanding players.
Great job Geno!!!!!!:);)

Great and very funny observation for a "newbie": welcome!!
(even Bills fans are welcome, since most of your best players end up playing for the Patriots anyway )
